My furry friend isright, of course.Hiking isnt just awarm weatheractivity, and it neverhurts to get a littleexercise. All her tailwagging and ear

perking has inspired me to startcompiling my New YearsResolutions.

This winter, Im hoping to trysnowshoes on for size only if weget that white stuff Michiganders keeptelling me about, of course. Anotheron my list is cross-country skiing atIndependence Oaks. Maybe I can justgrab hold of the leash, yell mush, andmy dog will take me for a spin.

Once the snow melts away, Imchecking off finding my first MichiganMorel. I missed the 2012 mushroomseason, and Im still bitter about it.With the pup in tow, Im hitting thetrails to do some foraging. No leaf willgo unturned, no fallen treeunexamined, no shady spot
