The Shanghai Local Postal System was established on July 13, 1863 and issued the earliest stamps of China in Shanghai on August 2, 1865. The essay designs, trial proofs, issued stamps, variety stamps, and postal history items of the earliest and latest usages are shown in the four-volume “Shanghai Local Post – Stamp Issues and Postal History” published by Mr Fortune Wang of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, a renowned Shanghai Local Post collector and an eminent expert on the Shanghai Local Postal System, his exhibit received a Large Gold medal in FIP China 1999.
