I. THE 2ND EDITION OF “ÉTATS GÉNÉRAUX DE LA CULTURE AU MAROC“

Racines organized the second edition of Etats Généraux de la Culture au Maroc at the “Fabrique Culturelle des Anciens Abattoirs de Casablanca“, from November 10th to 12th, 2016. This edition was organized in partnership with Théâtre Nomade, that celebrated its tenth anniversary.

Two years ago, on November 12th 2014, Racines organized the first edition of Etats Généraux de la Culture au Maroc, in Rabat. During this meeting, the association presented a set of suggestions for cultural policies in Morocco. Those suggestions were issued from a work that started in 2012, including an inventory, a sectorial diagnosis, professional and regional meetings and sectorial and cross-sectional studies on cultural governance, the professionalization of human resources, artistic eduction, cultural diversity, etc. It aims the establishment of a national action plan for culture, phrased from the suggestions issued from the diagnosis of the sector and the recommendations made by professionals and the different publics.

The second edition of Etats Généraux de la Culture was a moment of sharing and exchange with our Moroccan, African, Middle-Eastern and European partners. It united operators from associations, institutional bodies, professionals, artists and international organizations. It was open for the public at large.
