Day 1: Sun, Dec 05 – HONOLULU. Depart Honolulu via Hawaiian Airlines.

Day 2: Mon, Dec 06 – TOKYO. Arrive in Tokyo. After entry formalities, transfer by coach to your hotel in Tokyo. SUNSHINE CITY PRINCE HOTEL (4 Nights).

Day 3: Tue, Dec 07 – TOKYO. After a sumptuous buffet breakfast, embark on a full day of discovery! First visit Tokyo Skytree for a view of the surrounding city. At just over 2,000 feet tall, it is the tallest tower in Tokyo. Rising 350 meters above the ground, the Tokyo Skytree Tembo Deck offers a 360° panoramic view of Tokyo. Next visit Tokyo Solamachi, it is the large shopping, dining and entertainment complex at the base of the Tokyo Skytree. Enjoy lunch on your own. After lunch, head to Asakusa, the center of Tokyo’s shitamachi (literally “low city”) districts, where an atmosphere of the Tokyo of past decades survives. Asakusa’s main attraction is Sensoji, a very popular Buddhist temple built in the 7th century. The temple is approached via the Nakamise, a shopping street that has been providing temple visitors with a variety of traditional local snacks and tourist souvenirs for centuries. Then try your hand at making Amezaiku. Return to the hotel. (B)

Day 4: Wed, Dec 08 – TOKYO. Begin the day with a visit to Jindaiji Temple, one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Tokyo. Since the 8th century, it has housed the oldest statue of Buddha in Eastern Japan. Then visit Kichijoji Sun Road Shopping District. Built in the 1970s but renovated recently, Sunroad has a definitively retro vibe. Large glass roof panels cover the shotengai, thus allowing natural light to pour into the shops below while protecting shoppers from the natural elements. You can find traditional independent shops alongside brand new chain stores here – truly, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for new shoes, fresh tofu, Japanese hand cream or a vintage kimono, you’ll leave Sunroad satisfied. Then explore the visually stimulating Harajuku Shopping District. Harajuku is the

center of Japan’s most extreme teenage cultures and fashion styles, but also offers shopping for adults and some historic sights. Next, visit Shibuya Sky, an observation installation that will cultivate your power of imagination by stimulating your intellectual curiosity through a series of experiences in addition to allowing you to take in a 360° view that stretches out from 229 meters up in the sky of Shibuya. Finally view the Shibuya “Blue Cave” Illumination, a popular illumination event held in Tokyo during winter. The event first started in Nakameguro area in 2014, then moved its location to Shibuya in 2016. It’s one of the most popular and visited winter illumination events in Tokyo, which invited over 2 million visitors in one month last year. Return to the hotel for evening. (B)

Day 5: Thu, Dec 09 – TOKYO. Day at Leisure. Your local guide will be available to assist as needed. Perfect day to relax and/or visit with family and friends in Tokyo. (B)

Day 6: Fri, Dec 10 – TOKYO – HONOLULU. First tour the Edo-Tokyo Museum, which vividly illustrates the past of Tokyo (known as Edo until 1869) through its exhibits. Visitors are able to experience and learn about various aspects of what life was like during the Edo period. Then visit Ameyoko, a busy market street along the Yamanote Line tracks between Okachimachi and Ueno Stations. The name “Ameyoko” is a short form for “Ameya Yokocho” (candy store alley), as candies were traditionally sold there. Alternatively, “Ame” also stands for “America”, because a lot of American products used to be available there when the street was the site of a black market in the years following World War II. Today, various products such as clothes, bags, cosmetics, fresh fish, dried food and spices are sold along Ameyoko. A final shopping stop will be made at an AEON Mall before transferring to the airport for our return f light home. Depart Tokyo via Hawaiian Airlines. Arrive Honolulu the same day. Aloha and Welcome Home! (B)
