About Pixlr Express
Pixlr Express (www.pixlr.com/express) is a free online photo-‐editing tool that anyone can access from a computer or mobile device. Pixlr Express provides an intuitive interface and allows users to apply more than 600 effects, overlays and borders to images. Pixlr Express gives users three options for uploading and editing images: by URL, from a computer or from a mobile device. Use the Pixlr Express application on your phone or tablet and quickly edit and share images with others.
Download the Pixlr Express app for use with a mobile device: If you’re using a tablet, please download the Pixlr Express mobile app from the following: http://pixlr.com/mobile/. Please note that you cannot create a collage using the Pixlr Express app on a smart phone.

Pixlr Express Layout
Pixlr Express has an easy and intuitive interface. When you first open the editing tool from a web browser, you will be presented with five options for opening files:
Browse your local drive and select an image.
Select Open URL icon to edit an image from a web page. If you find and image online that you would like to use, right click on the image and select “copy image location”. Then paste the image location into the URL option and select Open.
Select the Webcam icon to open your webcam, capture an image and then edit.
Select the Collage icon and open images from your local drive.

Select the Mobile icon from your phone or tablet to take a photo and edit, or edit an existing photo from your Camera Roll or Photo Stream. Please note that you cannot create a collage, add stickers or add text to an image using a smartphone.
Once you have opened a photo, the following icons will appear at the top of the page:
Saves your image. When working with a photo opened from a collage, the first Save will bring you back to your collage. The second Save will save your image locally.
Closes the image, not Pixlr Express.
Undo any unsaved edits to an image. You can repeat the undo to remove as many edits as you like.
Redo edits made to an image.
Full screen will expand your browser to a full screen mode.
You can expand the size of your image either by using the expand and contract icons, or by moving the slider to select a percentage size.

Step 1: Go to http://www.pixlr.com/exress or go to http://www.pixlr.com and select the Pixlr Express option.

Step 2: Select the Collage icon to start a new collage.
Step 3: Select any four-‐picture collage layout.

Step 4: Optional: Adjust spacing, picture roundness, proportions and background color.
Upload Images
Step 5: Mouse over the collage and click the plus sign to open an image from your local drive.
Step 6: Repeat step 5 above until you have selected images for each section of your collage. Select Finished when done. Do not save the collage until you are finished editing.

Make Adjustments
Step 7: Mouse over a photo and select the paintbrush tool to open the editing toolbar.

Step 9: Select any adjustment. In this example, contrast has been chosen.
Step 10: After making adjustments, select Apply.

Step 11: Select Save at the top of the screen. You should now return to your collage.
Apply Effects Step 12: Mouse over a photo and select the paintbrush tool to open the editing toolbar.
Step 13: Select the Effect icon to open the Effect features.

Step 14: Choose an Effect theme to test on image.
Step 15: Use the arrow icon below the image to preview different effects on your image.

Step 16: Select Cancel to return to the main Effect menu.
Step 17: Select Apply to choose the effect.
Step 18: Select Save at the top of the screen to return to your collage.

Add an Overlay Step 19: Mouse over a photo and select the paintbrush tool to open the editing toolbar. Select the Overlay icon to open the overlay options.
Step 20: Select an Overlay theme to try out on your photo.
Step 21: Use the arrow icon to try different overlay options within a theme.

Step 22: Select Cancel to return to the Overlay themes, or select Apply.
Step 23: Select Save at any time to return to your collage.
Create a Border Step 24: Mouse over a photo and select the paintbrush tool to open the editing toolbar. Select the Border icon to open the border options.

Step 25: Select a border theme to try out on your photo.
Step 26: Use the arrow icon to try different borders within a theme.

Step 27: Select Cancel to return to the Border themes, or select Apply.
Step 28: Select Save at any time to return to your collage.
Add Stickers to a Photo
Step 29: Mouse over a photo and select the paintbrush tool to open the editing toolbar. Select the Sticker icon to open the sticker options.
Step 30: Select a sticker theme to try out on your photo.

Step 31: Adjust placement of the sticker on your photo by moving the handles and rotating.
Step 32: Select Cancel to return to the Border themes, or select Apply.
Step 33: Select Save at any time to return to your collage.

Add Text to a Photo Step 34: Mouse over a photo and select the paintbrush tool to open the editing toolbar. Select the Text icon to open the text options.

Step 36: Select a text font face. Use the arrows to scroll through the options.
Step 37: Type text into the box to the left of the font choice. Choose a text color and position on the page.

Step 39: Select Cancel to return to the Text themes, or select Apply.
Step 40: Select Save to return to your collage.

Step 42: Now select Save at the top of the page and choose a name and location for your new collage.
Congratulations! You have just created a collage in Pixlr Express.
