Two-Tone Poem
Sunglow Yellow; Navy Blue
I can be Sunglow Yellow, opposite the night,
Liberal in the light,
Never feeling low,
Feeling at home, I am Sunglow Yellow.
I am Navy Blue on a down day,
Everything feels gray,
Like I’m astray,
Drowning in the sea

Cliché Poem
Title
He’s running on empty,
Yet the ground beneath him ‘s a plenty.
Some of these things, I just can’t comprehend.
People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, they always say
Even in a wooden house I wouldn’t throw stones, but hey,
Some of these things, I just can’t comprehend.

Persona Poem
Jasper – Marmot Basin
Earlier morning, Marmot Basin
Its citizens active, skiing or hiking
Right from the start, you should hasten
But the old town can’t keep up with the constant bustling
Never asking to return the favour
Jasper, kind at heart
The guests always return
For a fresh start

Shrouded Skies

Yet the moon still shined

Free Verse Poem
Over Yonder
Almost like you’re descending to nothing,
You begin to ponder,
What’s over yonder?
That’s when you realize, it’s the mountain that’s bluffing.
You’re not really falling, you’re flying,
But, how are you flying,
If your feet are on the ground?
If only the mountain would stop lying.
As you begin to think again, the mountain flattens,
And you realize you weren’t falling or flying, you were skiing.

Sonnet
Snowflakes
What is the falling snow really asking?
Snow swiftly sliding across the blue sky
Such a short life of a snowflake, falling
The end of its fall, despair in spring sky
Snowmen built, memorials of past winters
Carrot noses reside on the soaked pavement
Puddles form pictures, snowmen as printers
Spirits of children’s winter friends vacant
Yet, when snow melts, spring dawns, bringing new life
The Snowmen’s souls occupy new creatures
With spring comes warmth, no more cold and strife
On citizen’s lawns, new floral features
Whichever season, not the matter to me
I will enjoy any activity

Metaphor Poem
Apple Tree
The leaves of a tree
The rhymes of a poem
Flowers blossom
Stanzas form
Apples grow from buds on branches
Poems come together from lone stanzas
Once the apples fall from branches of the great apple tree
Once the poems find their way from the mind of the Poet
And into the hands of the hungry
And into the hands of the readers
Stomachs filled,
Minds Provoked
Seeds planted in the ground,
Seeds planted in their minds
To shape into an apple tree of their own
To shape into a poem of their own
