A Space for Sport and Relax

In an area reserved to sport and relax with pools and green spaces projected in the city of Bellinzona by the architect A. Galfetti together with F. Ruchat, I. Trumpy in 1967, each student had to project a diving board with a pathway leading to a changing room. One had to hand over an A1 design plate, reporting a planimetry of the context in scale 1:500, plans, prospects, sections in scale

1:50 and an axonometric view in scale 1:50.

Studyng the relationship between the singular object and the context, the quality of the space and the light, the importance of the materials and the detail solutions, each student had to project a room part of a new Hotel in the center of Bellinzona.

A simplex solution of 72 m2 in order to be used by a couple.

The Procession of Architects

The porpuse of the atelier was to experience the perception of an urban space through the ancient tradition of procession. Our work was to focus on the relationship between the path, the space, the sound and the time, all the physical relations of architecture. Each student had to assemble a megaphone, realised in alluminium, transported by a metallic printed frame. All students were

dressed with a total white suite in order to perform a sort of unique body in moviment.

The proposal of the atelier was the construction of a house meant to be lived during the vacations. We were hosts of the magnificent island of Tavolara in the north of Sardinia. Following the ancient path in the southern side of the

island the atelier examined the physicality and the sense of living beyond the conventions. Each student chose a place where to build his house.

A project of 80-100 m2 built in stone. The aim was to create an atmposhere, through the sensations of the material itself, the feelings of the light and the accordance with

the natural place we tried to create a space for the art of living.
