Programme Description 課程簡介This programme aims to equip students with technical knowledge and fundamental skills in railway engineering to ensure high quality and reliability of railway operation in today’s technology-driven environment. The programme not only focuses on the fundamental concepts and theories of engineering principles, railway safety and systems, but also addresses the specialised knowledge and skills in the four main railway engineering streams^, namely Power Distribution, Signalling, Permanent Way and Rolling Stock. Thus, the programme is a stepping stone for those who are interested in developing their career prospects in railway.
Graduates are eligible to apply for positions in the local railway industry and with railway related contractors.^MTR Academy reserves all rights of the stream offering.
本課程旨在為學生提供鐵路工程的基本知識和實用技能，以確保在現今以科技主導的環境中維持高質而可靠的鐵路營運。課程不僅涵蓋了鐵路工程的理論、鐵道安全和系統及基礎概念，亦會教授四個選修專科^的專業知識及技能，當中包括：配電、信號、軌道和鐵道車輛。因此，本課程可以為有興趣於鐵路行業發展的人士提供晉升階梯。
本課程畢業生可申請本地鐵路行業和鐵路相關承包商的職位。^港鐵學院對開辦選修專科保留最終決定權。

Training Facilities 訓練設備MTR Academy campus is conveniently located at MTR Hung Hom station. The campus covers 21,000 square feet and is equipped with the state-of–the–art Integrated Training Facility Room. Students may access the Learning Resources Centre, computer workstations, Wi- Fi service and hot beverage self- service corner.
港鐵學院位於港鐵紅磡站，佔地21,000平方尺並設有先進的綜合訓練設備室。同學可於中心內使用教學資源中心、電腦工作間、高速無線上網服務及熱飲自助站。
Programme Duration 課程時間9 September 2019 – 31 August 2021

Teaching Mode 授課模式Part-time mode. The language of instruction will be Cantonese supplemented with English. Training materials are in English supplemented with Chinese.
課程為兼讀制。課堂使用廣東話輔以英語教授。課堂筆記為英文輔以中文。
Class Schedule 上課時間Lectures are held on 2-3 weekday evenings (7pm – 10pm) and/or Saturday daytime (9:30am – 4:30pm) at Hung Hom Centre or other training centres. Industrial attachment is held on weekend day time and/or midnights at MTR Depots and/or railway lines. 課堂於平日晚間（晚上7時 - 10時）及/或週六日間（上午9時30分 - 下午4時30分）在紅磡中心或其他訓練中心舉行，每週上課2-3堂。跟崗學習於週末日間及/或深夜在港鐵公司車廠及/或軌道進行。
Cash prize award will be given to the top three graduates in recognition for overall outstanding academic achievement upon graduation.
Graduates of the Diploma in Transport Studies* , who are on the Dean’s list and are admitted to the Advanced Diploma programme, will be provided a tuition fee waiver. The waiver will be reimbursed upon completion of the Advanced Diploma study.

「兩年的課程有理論與跟崗學習，對面試及日後工作十分有用。在面試中有關鐵路工作的問題我都可以解答，這比沒有讀過相關課程的人優勝。」
The two-year programme taught theoretical knowledge and included a job attachment which prepared me for the job interview and actual field work. During the job interview, I could answer all the questions related to work practice. I definitely had an advantage over those who did not undertake the programme.

HK$48,960** Tuition fees are paid in 2 equal instalments, once at the beginning of each academic year. Applicants will be required to settle a
non-refundable registration fee of HK$5,000 within 3 working days upon the issuance of offer letter. Registration fee will be deducted from the first payment of the tuition fee.
港幣$48,960** 學費平均分兩期繳交，每學年開始時繳交一次。申請人如獲發正式「取錄通知書」，須於3個工作天內繳付港幣5,000元註冊費 （不設退款），註冊費用作繳交部份第一學年學費。

Applicants shall have 1 year of working experience preferably in any engineering discipline AND
1. have attained Level 2/ Grade E or above in five subjects including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics in HKCEE, or equivalent; OR
2. have attained Level 2 or above in five subjects including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics in HKDSE, or equivalent; OR
3. hold a relevant Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) qualification in Electrical & Mechanical Services Industry at QF Level 3 or above; OR4. hold a certificate/diploma at QF Level 3 or above from a recognised institution.
Applicants under conditions 3 & 4 above shall be required to pass a Mathematics and English test.Applicants with other equivalent qualifications and relevant work experience will be considered on individual merit. Applicants may be invited to attend an interview.

1. 考獲香港中學會考五科二級/E級（包括英文、中文及數學科）或同等學歷；或2. 考獲香港中學文憑試五科二級（包括英文、中文及數學科）或同等學歷；或3. 持有有關機電業「過往資歷認可」級別三或以上學歷；或4. 持有認可院校頒發資歷架構第三級或以上的證書或文憑。
如以入學條件3及4報名，申請人必須參加數學及英文筆試，並取得合格。申請人如未能符合以上述入學資格，但具備其他同等資格和相關工作經驗，學院亦會考慮其申請。申請人可能會被邀請參加面試。

Applications by mail and in-person will not be considered.
Non-refundable application fee is HK$200. (Pay by VISA/MasterCard at the Online Payment Gateway)
