Parris Carter presented a workshop at the 9th Annual Leadership Summit this past Saturday at the Oakland campus. His workshop title was ‘Taking the High Road”: A Leader’s Walk in Values and Ethics. He is pictured left re-ceiving a gift for presenting. Several students and Graduate Resident Direc-tor, Kathleen Jensen, also attended the confer-ence. They also met up with two former stu-dents; Chaz Berry and Tutu Wreh. Pictured below are the students who attended.

The next Panther Print will be published on Friday, February 27. Articles, information, photos, etc. are due to Audrey Renn by noon on Wednesday, February 25.

An organization meeting of the UPT Guitar Club will be held on Friday evening, February 20, at 6:00 p.m. in Room 202AB of the Student Un-ion. The purpose of the meeting will be to approve the constitution, elect officers, review the club’s SGA ap-proved budget, determine future meeting dates and appoint an advi-sor. In addition, an Eric Clapton sig-nature series Martin Guitar and an Ultrasound acoustic amplifier will be demonstrated by Mr. Shoup and by some club members who desire to play it. Since the kick-off meeting is primar-ily for organizational purposes, stu-dents who own guitars need not bring them to the initial meeting. Again, club membership is free, and it is not necessary that club members own guitars or yet know how to play a guitar. Interested stu-dents should, however, at least have a sincere interest in either im-proving their guitar playing skills or learning to play a guitar while at-tending UPT. Two or more guitars will be availa-ble on campus for shared use by students who do not own guitars. Thus far, ten students have notified Mr. Shoup of their interest in joining the club. Other interested students may either contact Mr. Shoup by e-mail at: [email protected] as soon as possible or should attend the or-ganization meeting to be held on February 20.

Basketball Teams Head to Playoffs

The women’s and men’s bas-ketball teams will be compet-ing for the WPCC Conference Championship this Friday, February 13th. The women will travel to CCAC South at West Mifflin. Game time is set for 6 pm. The winner of that game will play for the Championship on Saturday at the campus of the winner of the other semi-final game between Butler Community and Westmoreland Commu-nity. The higher seeded win-ner will host the game.

Our men are hosting Friday’s game with Penn-Highlands at our gym, also at 6 pm. The winner of the men’s contest will advance to a semi-final game Saturday, at either Boyce Community or Alle-gheny Community. The championship game will be played Sunday at the highest seeded team’s campus.

The women and men are ex-cited for the opportunity to represent the Pitt-Titusville Community, especially on our home floor in the men’s game. The men would appre-ciate a crowded, supportive gym. One lucky student pre-sent will be selected for a nice gift.

Wear your blue and gold Fri-day and support the basket-ball teams in their playoff games!
