To approve and authorize the extension of the time limit for the disposition of certain District-12
owned real properties located at the intersection of Minnesota Avenue and Benning,13
Road, N.E.1415
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this16
resolution may be cited as the Minnesota-Benning Phase 2 Redevelopment Disposition17
Approval Extension Resolution of 2011.18
Sec. 2 (a) Pursuant to section 1 of An Act Authorizing the sale of certain real estate in19
the District of Columbia no longer required for public purposes, approved August 5, 1939 (5320
Stat. 1211: D.C. Official Code 10-801(d)), the Mayor transmitted to the Council a request for21
approval of one (1) additional year of time, amounting to three (3) years total, for the disposition22
of certain District-owned real property in the area bounded by Benning Road, N.E., to the south,23
Foote Place, N.E., to the north, Kenilworth Avenue, N.E., to the west, and Minnesota Avenue,24
N.E., to the east (the Property), and comprising of approximately 211,151 square feet of land,25
known as:26
(1)Square 5052, Lots 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 800, 804 and 806; and27

(2)Parcels 176/19, 176/23, 176/44, 176/60, 176/68, 176/70, 176/72, 176/73,1176/78, 176/83;2
(3)The alley located in Square 5052, running parallel to Minnesota Avenue, N.E.,3from Benning Road, N.E., to a line extended from and parallel to the4
northeastern boundary of Parcel 176/23; and5
(4)The air rights over Minneosta Avenue, N.E., between Benning Road, N.E.,6and Foote Place, N.E.;7
which disposition was approved by the Council pursuant to the Minnesota-Benning Phase 28
Redevelopment Disposition Approval Resolution of 2009, effective October 6, 2009 (Res. 18-9
0262; 56 DCR 8407). The Mayor also transmitted a detailed status report on efforts made to10dispose of the Property as well as the reasons for the inability to dispose of the property within11
the 2-year time period authorized by the Disposition Approval Resolution.12
(b) The Council approves the additional time requested by the Mayor to dispose of13
the Property, and extends the time period to dispose of the Property to October 6, 2012.14
Sec. 3. Fiscal impact statement.15
The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement prepared by the Chief Financial Officer as16
the fiscal impact statement required by section 602(c)(3) of the District of Columbia Home Rule17
Act, approved December 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 813; D.C. Official Code 1-206.02(c)(3)).18
Sec. 4. The Secretary to the Council shall transmit a copy of this resolution, upon19
adoption, to the Mayor.20
Sec. 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately.21
