Dear brothers, sisters and friends, “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his

love endures forever.”(1 Chronicles 16:34)“Every good and perfect gift is from above,

coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” (James 1:17)

2018 is a year of thankfulness for us. We are celebrating First Light Care’s 20th anniversary. We will be holding our 20th Anniversary Dinner in Sydney this April. We are thankful to have Dr Charles Yu and his team join us for the event. Dr. Yu will be speaking at the dinner and also holding a series of seminars and evangelical meetings from 31st March to 8 April. We sincerely ask you to pray for Dr Yu and his team and the works they will do for His name.

As we look back at the past twenty years, we thank God for the goodness He has shown to us.

We particularly thank Him for all the people who have supported First Light Care financially, practically and prayerfully over the past 20 years. With their gifts (in the form of donations, dedicated works of staff, practical help of volunteers and members, partnership and support of churches and other organisations, etc.), we have been able to serve tens of thousands of people over the past twenty years with a much-needed service.

Every year we help resolve serious relational conflicts and problems faced by married couples and families. In so doing, we prevent divorce and family break-ups. For example, there was a couple we worked with last year, who had previously been separated for six months. After three months of counselling, they made the decision to reunite as a couple.

We also help prevent serious harm to people (and their families) who suffer from depression,

drug and alcohol abuse, other serious mental health problems, harmful gambling addiction or domestic violence. For example, we recently helped a man to accept help to deal with his alcohol addiction and violence problems, which were causing him to beat up his wife whenever he became intoxicated.

We are thankful to God and our supporters for enabling us to serve the church and wider community through our service.

Since the beginning, our aim has been to practically care for and restore those who suffer - relationally, emotionally and mentally - in line with God’s own heart and vision of healing and restoration.

As James reminds us in the Bible, “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead”. (James 2:17) Our care and love shown through our actions is a powerful witness to the world around us.

Indeed, the Bible challenges us on the need to align our outward actions with our inner beliefs: “Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?” (James 2: 15-16)

So as we reflect back on and thank God for what He has done over the past 20 years, we also look ahead to the future with humility and dependency.

Though our country has prospered economically, suffering and human problems have and will continue. So we will continue to ask God to call workers to help our ministry to do the work He has entrusted us with. And we ask you to join us in prayer and in action with this also.

4. Please pray for good health for the staff team so that they can continue to serve with strength.

2018是值得感恩的一年，晨光關懷協會成立20週年了。我們將於四月舉行連串慶祝活動，承蒙余德淳博士及其團隊遠道而來，除了

在感恩聚餐中主講外，並於三月三十一日到四

月八日，主持多場公開講座和佈道會，懇請大

家切切代禱。

回顧過去二十年，我們衷心感謝上帝的恩

典。首先，我們要感謝一班忠心的支持者，當

中不乏慷慨的捐款；同工們的熱忱；義工們的

投身，並教會及社會機構的伙伴合作，祈禱支

持，使晨光在過去二十年裡，能夠為成千上萬

人們提供服務。

每年,晨光致力解決夫婦和家庭衝突等問

題，挽救不少家庭從離婚或家庭破裂的困境過

渡。去年，有一對夫婦接受三個月輔導後，破

鏡重圓，縱分居了半年終復合過來。

我們還幫助抑鬱症病人、吸毒者、酒徒、病

態賭徒和其他嚴重心理健康病患者。最近，我

們輔導一名男士，協助他解決酗酒而導致的家

暴問題。

雅各書2:17提醒我們：「信心若沒有行為就是死的。」惟有通過切實行動，我們才能將愛

和關懷貫徹始終，使人明白上帝的愛。誠然，

聖經常常勉勵我們，切勿徒托空言，雅各書

2:15-16：「若是弟兄，或是姐妹赤身露體，又缺了日用的飲食，你們中間有人對他們說，平

平安安的去罷，願你們穿得暖  喫得飽，卻不給

他們身體所需用的，這有甚麼益呢？」

從第一天開始，我們的目標就是秉承上帝

的意願，實際地照顧有需要人士，祈盼在情緒

上、關係破裂上和精神上受苦的人得到癒合。

回顧過去，無盡感恩，展望未來，我們繼續謙

卑依靠上帝。

儘管我們國家經濟繁榮，但人類問題依然與

日俱增，苦難問題亦有增無減。因此，我們懇求

上帝呼召更多人加入我們的團隊，請為我們禱

告，並肩作戰，一起完成神委託我們的召命。
