Hello everyone! I am here to make a short presentation about a well-known artist.

I don’t know if you know the meaning of the term “genius”?

Dictionaries describe the meaning of this term as:

“someone having extraordinary talents and creative power.”

There is a man who fits to this definition living in the city of Florence in Italy.

He was a painter who made unique paintings until today.

He was a sculptor who gave life to stones. He was an engineer who inspired the today’s

engineers with his drawings of many tools. He was an architect who incorporated

unprecedented innovations to the construction of buildings.

He was a scientist who investigated the anatomic structure and life styles of living things.

Briefly, he was genius who is the jack of all trades; his name was: Leonardo da Vinci.

Let’s talk more about his life. If you look at the board, you can see the table which is about the main hits about his life. His actual name is Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci and he was born on 15 April 1452 in Vinci, Republic of Florence. He was died on 2 May 1519 at the age of 67 in Amboise, Kingdom of France.

He was well known for the Diverse fields of the arts and sciences. His notable works are: “Mona Lisa”, “The Last Supper”, “The Vitruvian Man” and “Lady with an Ermine” (you can see the pictures of all of his works I have just mentioned, his signature and some of his inventions if you look at the board).

He used High Renaissance style in his works.

High Renaissance: a style of art developed in Italy in the late 15th and early 16th centuries, chiefly characterized by an emphasis on draftsmanship, schematized, often centralized compositions, and the illusion of sculptural volume in painting.
