Results of the research were presented in âBiosystems Engineeringâ conference organised by Estonian University of Life Sciences (8th to 10th May, 2019).

GoA2.2 Data collection and testing feasible technologies (TUT)
âĒ Piloting tertiary treatment materials for suspended solids, phosphorous and heavy metals
âĒ After Riga event TUT has finished piloting in AdaÅūi and Viimsi. The results are mostly analyzed and the report is being compiled at the moment
âĒ The report will consist of: â Analyzing results of investigated WWTP (influent-effluent-sludge)
â Comparison of different tertiary treatment methods for heavy metals and P removal
â Recommendations for cost-effective tertiary treatment, for different situations. Analyze of harmful substances as mass-balance (influent, effluent, sludge), effect on circular economy approaches

â The Estonian Water Works Association (EVEL) arranged a training event specializing on the impact of industrial waste waters on the activated sludge processes at the treatment plants.
âĒ 25th of April 2019 â 26th of April 2019, Gdansk, Poland
â Gdansk Water Foundation arranged a two-day seminar and a workshop focusing on innovative operation in the field of industrial wastewater and water treatment, and rational management of water resources through the recovery of water in industrial plants.
âĒ 27th of March 2019, Kaliningrad, Russia
â ECAT-Kaliningrad organized the round-table dedicated to development of cooperation between WWTPs, water utilities, industries and environmental authorities. The discussion and cooperation between industry, authorities and WWTP was facilitated by a Business Game. Participants exchanged their roles and the facilitators gave them fictional problems and special targets about industrial WW management to solve.
âĒ 21th Match 2019, St Petersburg, Russia
â Project BEST round table organized by City of Helsinki and John Nurminen Foundation. The seminar focused on the management of industrial waste waters in Russia by discussing legislation and its practical implementation.

â ECAT-Kaliningrad arranged a seminar focusing on the co-operation practices and regulations in the industrial sewage treatment, examples of well-established waste water treatment at industries, and new available technologies for the industrial waste water treatment.
âĒ 10th of May 2018 â 11th of May 2018, Tartu, Estonia
â Estonian Waterworks Association EVEL arranged training event for local waterworks focusing on cooperation with industrial customers, post treatment of waste water in treatment plans, and also possibilities for pretreatment of waste water already at the industries.
âĒ 18th of April 2018, Riga, Latvia
â Riga Technical University RTU arranged âSmart Biotechnologyâ workshop for representatives of water industry. The workshop focused on newest biotechnologies used for wastewater treatment.

â Management of wastewater through theatre. Developing skills in wastewater treatment technologies, but also provides preparation of professionals, that can communicate with institutions involved in water and wastewater sector (e.g. industry)

The course on wastewater treatment and sewage systems is addressing not only the developing skills in wastewater treatment technologies, but also provides preparation of professionals, that can communicate with institutions involved in water and wastewater sector.

GoA 4.2 Demonstrating optimal utilisation of industrial sewage for energy production (Leszno)
âĒ The analysis of industrial sewage and waste producers in the Leszno area has been carried out
A database of waste and sewage producers has been developed. The database contains data of approximately 100 producers of waste and sewage from the agro-food industry
âĒ 8 companies were selected for the study of co-fermentation processes
âĒ Laboratory tests using the sewage and waste from these 8 producers will be carried out between March â December 2019
âĒ The fermentation pilot system will be chosen and implemented based on these laboratory tests
