    The objective of Dissertation work is to experience the way in which organizationsfunction in agiven environment. The keyword is experience. Experience has two dimensions,understanding and application.

    (I) Understandingnderstand the global and local economic scenario and the sector in which the selected

    organization operate!The business model of the organization!

    nderstand how each of the functional areas are designed and performed in anorganization!

    "ow the organization is similar to other organizations in the same sector as well as how itis different from other organizations!#usiness proposition offered by the organization, $%&T 'nalysis, financial for the pastfive years, the strategy of the organization.

    The understanding expected out of you may appear to be obvious. "owever, in practice itis different. (ou will realize that the business models of organizations are complex and needanalysis and study. (ou can also study the strategy of the organization.

    (II) Application'pply knowledge of research methodology to analyze the problems or issues faced by

    organizations.nderstand how various principles you have learned during course work is applied in the

    real time business world.)earn the changes that are taking place in the business world. *f certain guidelines arefollowed, experiences indicate that project work will be fulfilling experience and pavesway for final placement. +ertain assumptions are made before starting the dialogue. *t isassumed that you have successfully completed your Dissertation work. The guidelinesmay not be different but are applied with fewer rigors. (ou have also selected your specialization with due diligence and passionate about perusing your career in the givenspecialization.

    ' roject report is logical. The project is a formal document whose sole purpose is to prove that you have made a contribution to knowledge or solved an organization-s problem. (our Dissertation must have two things.

    (ou have identified a problem or uestion from the organization.(ou have solved the problem or answered the uestion.

    $elect statistical tools to analyze the data 0by using parametric and non5parametric tests1!Decide a rough title. (ou can finalize it later!&nce a business problem is identified, choose the topic reflecting your research and thenaddress the organization-s needs. Then go to next phase of research.$tart with broad ideas and then focus on to specific business problems and issues.

    *ypes of (esearch Design The next area is what type of research, is it exploratory, descriptive or conclusive.

    Data +pri#ary and secondary The secondary data has to be complemented with your primary data. Therefore writewhat all the data sources that you have collected and source of primary data.

    (esearch Instru#ent *f it is a uestionnaire, you have to write what type of uestionnaire. "owever, do not assume always that you need to have uestionnaire to start the research.

    (ou have different methods and use them to enrich your thought process.

    (esearch tool 2enerally in most of the research we use uestionnaire method. There are four different

    types of uestionnaires. "owever, there are other methods such as focus group interviews, wordassociation tests, etc., generally being used in project works. se such tools that provide betterinsights into the data.

    A endi&e!'ppendices refer to the annexure enclosed to the report. These enclosures help the reader

    of the report to refer in case of any clarity re uired on the type of instrument used by student ineliciting the information from the respondents. 2enerally, the appendices contain a copy of theuestionnaire administered in the study, published raw data collected and used in the study, etc.

    *f some other studies which are relevant but may hinder continuity to the study are given in theappendix. 'ppendices should be numbered using 'rabic numerals, e.g. 'ppendix
