It Is stated that most of the vet- erans who were seriously incapaci- tated have had their claims adjusted, but those with minor Injuries have : failed to gain advantage of thela. !rights. In order to hasten the*, dis- charge, many stated they were in good physical condition and there- fore have an erroneous Idea they are not compensable. Likewise, some believe they have no claims because the defect was not noted on their discharge or because they wore not in the front line trenches. The gov- ernment, however, has recognized these acts wore due to tho natural enthusiasm of hoys In their desire to return homo, and has waived them as a barrier to compensation. It is the commission's desire to have word reach every ex-soldier, sailor or marine that no matter how slight their Injury, they may have j just claims against the government and should file application immedi- ately. Those who have been dis- charged over one year can have their cases appealed Individually to Wash- ington, D. C, by prompt action now. This feature oi government serv- ice is entirely distinct from, and should not bo confused with, war risk insurance and is designed as a better suastitute for the pensions of previous wars. Paige Throe should communicate Immediately with the Veterans' Welfare Commis- sion, Soldiers' & Sailors' Club bundl- ing, Seattle, or any , __ome Service Section of the Red Cross to secure aal necessary data and blank forms.
