The enhanced waterfront park area is a more resilient beach front with breakwater treatments in the form of stair seats and shell fish research and production in the waters. This allows people to use the interface between the beach and the seawall in a new way. Qualicum Beach (QB) is synonomous with the quaintness of its downtown and the ocean front link. This proposed plan strengthens links; the links between QB and the ocean, the ocean and the down- town core, the ocean and people, and people with livelihoods and recreation. Blink and imagine a resilient waterfront environment that reflects the unique sense of place of QB where citizens can live, work, and play. Envision this water- front link with resiliency in the built environment and in the land uses. As resilient as glass fishing floats that survive the rough ocean waters with grace and longevity.
