La radioterapia estereotáctica corporal (SBRT) usa altas dosis ablativas de irradiación en pocas

fracciones sobre tumores raquimedulares a los fines terapéuticos y para controlar síntomas.

2- Pulmón 52-55 56-59

En tumores localmente avanzados, es decir no son operables, la SBRT es una opción de tratamiento

con resultados favorables y baja toxicidad.

En pacientes con metástasis hepáticas o tumores primarios, la SBRT ha demostrado excelente control

local con erradicación de la enfermedad visible.

fracciones sobre tumores pancreáticos inoperables, con buen control local y mejoría de la clínica.

En pacientes selectos, la SBRT de próstata durante 1 semana, tiene similares resultados que

los tratamientos convencionales de 8 semanas, lo que brinda confort al paciente.

6- Oligometástasis 75-77

Un nuevo concepto de tratamiento es el tratamiento de varios focos de enfermedad visible, conocido

como oligometástasis, que es factible de ser irradiado puntualmente protegiendo tejido sano próximo. De esta

forma no sólo controlaríamos la enfermedad visible, sino que colaboraría a que continúen los tratamientos

sistémicos en el resto del cuerpo.

7- Re-Irradiación 78-80 En casos donde la enfermedad es recidiva y no es factible una cirugía oncológica, la re-irradiación

con altas dosis y precisión ha demostrado eficacia en el control local con buena tolerancia.
