    1. Fields of Application

    RC pumps are used for pumping viscous and with lubricatingproperties liquids without solids in applications such as:

    •  Marine industry: motor lubrication, fuel feed, fueltransfer and lub-oil transfer.

    •  Oil: mineral and vegetable oils, oil derivates,greases and additives…

    •  Petrochemical industry: liquid polymers, viscous

    solvents, emulsions, adhesives, fuel oil, diesel oil…

    •  Chemical industry: liquid soap paste, soya oil,glycerine,..

    •  Paint and lacquer industry: binders, colouringmatters, solvents, textile dyes…

    3. Design

    Double-gear pump, self-priming (1), with in line suction anddischarge. Pump casing with adjustable automatic reliefbypass valve.

    Three types:

    - Horizontal (sizes from R1 to R4)

    - Vertical (sizes from R1 to R4)

    - Close coupled (sizes RC-00 and RC-01)

    Close coupled Horizontal Vertical (RCV)

    (1) with siphon type pipe installation

    6. Components

    6.1 Shaft seal

    Mechanical seal is supplied as standard for biggest sizes. ForRC-00 and RC-01- shaft seal is by means of several lip seals.

    6.2 Driv e

    IEC frame electric motor.

    6.3 Bearings / Lubrication

    The RC-00 and RC-01 size pumps do not have independentfriction bearing bushes and its upper shaft supports on themotor bearings.

    In the models RC-1, RC–1 ½ and RC–2, the shafts and gearsare supported by removable friction bearings housed in the

    side covers.On the models RC-2R, RC–2RD, RC–3R and RC–4R, theyare supported by  ball bearings, housed in the intermediatesupport.

    In all cases the bearings are lubricated by the pumped fluid..

    6.4 Coupling  

    Flexible, rubber plug type coupling for all pump sizes, exceptfor RC-00 and RC-01, that are close coupled type.

    Coupling guard: Metallic protections are supplied asstandard.

    6.5 Base Plate

    The horizontal pumps, from RC-1 to RC-4R sizes, can besupplied on a base plate or bare shaft.

    Base plate: of steel, welded or U-rails for complete unit (pumpand motor).

    6.6 Safety valve

     All the pumps include an adjustable bypass valve for internalsafety.

    Direction of rotation

    Fixed as standard. If customer wants to change the direction

    of rotation of the gears and thus the the direction of pumpedfluid, contact KSB ITUR for feasibility since modifications tostandard configuration pump must be carried out.
