Offering the same basic features

Pfaudler has provided for decades

top quality, reliability and ruggedness.

But now with a new series of fea-

tures which are Pfaudler-exclusive

and unmatched in the industry.

Larger ManwaysAll R S Series reactors now have large diam eter

m anw ays for easier and safer access into the

reactor. Also, an integrally fused sight glass

(there is no m ounting hardw are) and stainless

steel spring assist are now standard.

Higher Pressure RatingsSince m any chem ical processes today require

higher pressures, w e have increased the internalpressure rating by 25% ! All R S Series reactors are

rated for 125 psig internal pressure. All jackets

are rated for 100 psig.

Cryo-LockMixing SystemPfaudlers patented shrink-fit glassed im pellers

are designed to fit through the m anw ay and are

installed inside the reactor w ithout having to

rem ove the shaft, drive or m otor. Im pellers are

quickly installed, resulting in significantly reduced

dow ntim e costs.

The standard im peller is the versatile curved

blade turbine w hich prom otes excellent blending,

gas dispersion, suspension and heat transfer.

H ow ever, a variety of im peller designs are avail-

able to handle every m ixing requirem ent. Pfaudler

w ill recom m end the optim um configuration for

your specific application.

Fin BaffleThe effectiveness of a baffle is a function of its

shape, size and placem ent w ithin the reactor.

The finis the latest design in glass-lined baffle

technology and offers a flat blade, has a generous

overall w idth and is oriented tow ard the vessel

w all. This results in a substantial increase in

effectiveness over com petitive offerings.

In addition, our fin baffle is flange m ounted

(w hich elim inates the stuffing box), is easily

installed and extends

to w ithin inches of the

bottom head. Low

level baffling and

tem perature sensing

is now possible.

Top HeadM ore process nozzles

are provided, and

the large drive access

cover has been elim i-

nated. N o m ore large

gaskets to shim or

num erous clam ps

to tighten.

Low Temperatures

M any processes today run at low er tem peratures.

All shells and heads of the R S Series utilize fine

grain carbon steel w hich have significantly

im proved low tem perature characteristics.

Easy InstallationThe R S-Series reactor can replace existing

standard R A vessels w ith m inim al piping or

support m odifications.

Standard and CustomDesignsC hoose from a full line of Pfaudler RS-Series

G lasteel reactors, w ith m odels ranging from 300

to 15,000 gallons. These configurations can be

custom ized to m eet specific design requirem ents.

Why Use a Glasteel ReactorThe special ly formulat ed glass l ining, fused

to a steel substrate , is highly corrosion

resistant and chem ical ly inert to nearly al l

substances. It is the ideal environm ent for

process ing ul t ra-pure products .

I ts smooth sur face res ists adherence by

viscous or st icky mater ials and cleans easi ly.

Glasteel is strong. Fusing glass to steel

produces a composi te mater ia l wi th the

advantages of glass and the stren gth of

steel . It has a high resistance to im pact

and therm al ly induced stresses.
