Recital de Poesía
1

y un huerto claro donde madura el limonero;
mi juventud, veinte años en tierras de Castilla;
pero mi verso brota de manantial sereno;
corté las viejas rosas del huerto de Ronsard;
No sé. Dejar quisiera
(quien habla solo espera hablar a Dios un día);
Y al cabo, nada os debo; debéisme cuanto he
escrito.

YO ESCUCHO LOS CANTOS
Leído por: Iulia Raluca, NI-A (Inglés)
I follow the songs
with age-old rhythms
the children are singing
while they are playing
and showing in song
what their souls are dreaming,
like stone fountains
that show their water:
in monotonous murmurs
of undying laughter
that has in it no joy,
of ancient weeping
that has in it no pain
and speaks of sadness
the sadness of loving
of ancient legends.
In the mouths of children
the singing brings
the tale’s confusion,
pain that’s clear
as that clear water,
brings the message
of ancient love,
that it conceals.
Playing in shadows
of an ancient plaza
the children, singing…
The fountain of stone
poured out its eternal
crystal of legend.
The children were singing
innocent songs
of things that go on
and are never ending:
the story confused
the suffering clear.
The fountain serenely
continued its tale:
erasing the story,
telling the pain.
Yo escucho los cantos
de viejas cadencias,
que los niños cantan
cuando en coro juegan,
y vierten en coro
sus almas que sueñan,
cual vierten sus aguas
las fuentes de piedra:
con monotonías
de risas eternas,
que no son alegres,
con lágrimas viejas,
que no son amargas
y dicen tristezas,
tristezas de amores
de antiguas leyendas.
En los labios niños,
las canciones llevan
confusa la historia
y clara la pena;
como clara el agua
lleva su conseja
de viejos amores,
que nunca se cuentan.
Jugando, a la sombra
de una plaza vieja,
los niños cantaban...
La fuente de piedra
vertía su eterno
cristal de leyenda.
Cantaban los niños
canciones ingenuas,
de un algo que pasa
y que nunca llega:
la historia confusa
y clara la pena.
Seguía su cuento
la fuente serena;
borrada la historia,
contaba la pena

Sin título
Autor: Julius Karl Reinhold Sturm (1816 - 1896)
Leído por: Roberto Alarcón, A2
Oft stellt sich jene Zeit mir dar,
wo ich ein frohes Kind noch war
und oft am knisternden Kamin
mich wiegte auf des Vaters Knien.
Und wenn der Abend still genaht,
die Mutter um ein Märchlein bat,
wo sie dann freundlich ausgestellt
vor meinem Blick die Zauberwelt:
Mit Bäumen, welche ewig grünen,
mit Blumen, welche nie verblüh'n,
mit Schlössern von Diamantenstein,
mit Rittern, Riesen, Zwergen, Fei'n.

X
Then sing, ye Birds, sing, sing a joyous song!
And let the young Lambs bound
As to the tabor's sound!
We in thought will join your throng,
Ye that pipe and ye that play,
Ye that through your hearts today
Feel the gladness of the May!
What though the radiance which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind;
In the primal sympathy
Which having been must ever be;
In the soothing thoughts that spring
Out of human suffering;
In the faith that looks through death,
In years that bring the philosophic mind.

allein in Deinen Händen lag.
Einstweilen kommt sie
Lautlos fragend
Was nun werden mag
Und Antwort will sie haben.

II.
lanza de carro o yugo de carreta;
antes que rojo en el hogar, mañana,
ardas en alguna mísera caseta,
al borde de un camino;
antes que te descuaje un torbellino
y tronche el soplo de las sierras blancas;

When you hug me I feel
your wood made of meat
the tree´s heart is
in your arms and in your hands
shaking in my sadness
as the air does between the leaves.
When you hug me I feel
that your heart beats with my blood.
Cuando me abrazas siento
tu madera hecha de carne,
el corazón del árbol
en tus brazos y en tus manos
trepidando en mis tristezas
como hace entre las hojas el aire.
Cuando me abrazas siento
que tu corazón late con mi sangre.

THE TREES Philip Larkin, 1922-1985)
Leído por: Magdalena Jiménez Aparicio -4ºCAL, Ingñçes
The trees are coming into leaf
Like something almost being said;
The recent buds relax and spread,
Their greenness is a kind of grief.
Is it that they are born again
And we grow old? No, they die too,
Their yearly trick of looking new
Is written down in rings of grain.
Yet still the unresting castles thresh
In fullgrown thickness every May.
Last year is dead, they seem to say,
Begin afresh, afresh, afresh.

LAS MOSCAS
Vosotras, las familiares,
Inevitables golosas,
vosotras moscas vulgares,
me evocáis todas las cosas.
¡Oh viejas moscas voraces
Como abejas en abril,
viejas moscas pertinaces
sobre mi calva infantil!
¡Moscas del primer hastío
en el salón familiar
las claras tardes de estío
en que yo empecé a soñar!
Y en la aborrecida escuela,
raudas moscas divertidas
perseguidas
por amor de lo que vuela,
-que todo es volar-, sonoras
rebotando en los cristales
en los días otoñales…
Moscas de todas las horas,
De infancia y adolescencia,
De mi juventud dorada;
De esta segunda inocencia,
Que da en no creer nada,
De siempre… Moscas vulgares,
Que de puro familiares
No tendréis digno cantor:
Yo sé que os habéis posado
Sobre el juguete encantado,
Sobre el librote cerrado,
Sobre la carta de amor
Sobre los párpados yertos
de los muertos.
Inevitables golosas,
Que ni labráis como abejas,
Ni brilláis cual mariposas:
Pequeñitas revoltosas,
Vosotras, amigas viejas,
Me evocáis todas las cosas.

THE FLY by William Blake
Leído por Sandra Mesas Ramírez, 1ºNB Iglés (D)
Little Fly,
Thy summer's play
My thoughtless hand
Has brushed away.
Am not I
A fly like thee?
Or art not thou
A man like me?
For I dance
And drink, and sing,
Till some blind hand
Shall brush my wing.
If thought is life
And strength and breath
And the want
Of thought is death;
Then am I
A happy fly,
If I live,
Or if I die.

THE ROE DEER
Leído por José María Fatou Reguera, 5ºCAL – Inglés
I found your image in the darkness of the night.
I followed your tracks in a forest of magic trees.
I heard the shots
I felt the pounding of your heart.
It transmitted to nature the sound of fear.
You get to hide and only smelt your existence.
But I knew you were there.
From the distance I saw you enjoying the light.
You were in the centre of a hidden pasture.
Every second of your life meant a second of my happiness.
One day, the dangers ended and your astuteness won.
You appeared beautiful as beautiful is life.

LE CHAT
Charles Baudelaire, 1821-1967
Leído pour Víctor García Molina, NI Francés
Viens, mon beau chat, sur mon cœur amoureux;

THE THOUGHT FOX Ted Hughes, 1930-1998
Leído por Camino Soria Zurdo, 1ºN.A., Inglés y por Belén Morales Soria, 1ºN.B., Inglés
I imagine this midnight moment's forest:
Something else is alive
Besides the clock's loneliness
And this blank page where my fingers move.
Through the window I see no star:
Something more near
Though deeper within darkness
Is entering the loneliness:
Cold, delicately as the dark
snow,
A fox's nose touches twig,
leaf;
Two eyes serve a movement,
that now
And again now, and now,
and now
Sets neat prints into the
snow
Between trees, and warily a lame
Shadow lags by stump and in hollow
Of a body that is bold to come
Across clearings, an eye,
A widening deepening greenness,
Brilliantly, concentratedly,
Coming about its own business
Till, with sudden sharp hot stink of fox
It enters the dark hole of the head.
The window is starless still; the clock ticks,
The page is printed.

FAUN
Sylvia Plath, 1932-1963
Leído por Mª Angeles Bernabéu, 1ºN.A. CAL, Inglés.
Haunched like a faun, he hooed
From grove of moon-glint and fen-frost
Until all owls in the twigged forest
Flapped black to look and brood
On the call this man made.
No sound but a drunken coot
Lurching home along river bank.
Stars hung water-sunk, so a rank
Of double star-eyes lit
Boughs where those owls sat.
An arena of yellow eyes
Watched the changing shape he cut,
Saw hoof harden from foot, saw sprout
Goat-horns. Marked how god rose
And galloped woodward in that guise.

TO NATURE
Autor: Samuel Taylor Coleridge, 1772-1834)
Leído por: Mario García Martínez, 4ºcal inglés
It may indeed be fantasy when I
Essay to draw from all created things
Deep, heartfelt, inward joy that closely clings;
And trace in leaves and flowers that round me lie
Lessons of love and earnest piety.
So let it be; and if the wide world rings
In mock of this belief, it brings
Nor fear, nor grief, nor vain perplexity.
So will I build my altar in the fields,
And the blue sky my fretted dome shall be,
And the sweet fragrance that the wild flower yields
Shall be the incense I will yield to Thee,
Thee only God! and thou shalt not despise
Even me, the priest of this poor sacrifice.
MORGEN (La mañana)
Autor: Daniel Kai Grassl - Leído por Paco Sánchez, A2.
Nachtwolken ziehen vorbei
und schwinden.
Mondeslicht nimmt langsam ab
und vergeht.
Nächtliches Schweigen weicht den vielen
Stimmen und Lauten der ersten erwachenden
Tiere.

III. EL AGUA QUE CORRE Y EL TIEMPO QUE
PASA…
¡Oh Duero, tu agua corre
y correrá mientras las nieves blancas
de enero el sol de mayo
haga fluir por hoces y barrancas,
mientras tengan las sierras su turbante
de nieve y de tormenta
y brille el olifante
del sol, tras de la nube cenicienta!...

RÍO DUERO
Gerardo Diego
Leído por: Jose Ignacio Martín 3ºCAL
Río Duero, río Duero,
nadie a acompañarte baja,
nadie se detiene a oír
tu eterna estrofa de agua.
Indiferente o cobarde
la ciudad vuelve la espalda.
No quiere ver en tu espejo
su muralla desdentada.
Tú, viejo Duero, sonríes
entre tus barbas de plata,
moliendo con tus romances
las cosechas mal logradas.
Y entre los santos de piedra
y los álamos de magia
pasas llevando en tus ondas
palabras de amor, palabras.
Quién pudiera como tú,
a la vez quieto y en marcha
cantar siempre el mismo verso
pero con distinta agua.
Río Duero, río Duero,
nadie a estar contigo baja,
ya nadie quiere atender
tu eterna estrofa olvidada

DON’T LET THE MOMENT PASS
De una canción de The Alan Parson’s Projetc.
Leído por Susana Martín Fernández, de 3º curso C.A.L.
This golden day will be mine
For every moment in time
If time should lose her way
A symphony in the night
Of stars that dance in the light
And music far away
They say that love is but a dance
Don't let the music fade away
Don't let the moment pass
Without reason or rhyme
The sweet bouquet of the wine
Will vanish in the air
The innocence of the rose
She leaves where she goes
For all the world to share
Some days when clouds are drifting by
I open my eyes and watch them go
And wonder where they fly
Some nights orion runs too fast
I look to the stars as if to say
Don't let the moment pass
But soon a golden age is past
Just when it seemed that miracles
Where not too much to ask
And though the world may turn too fast
If it should seem like paradise
Don't let the moment pass

IV. CAMINOS Y DESTINOS
27
YO VOY SOÑANDO CAMINOS
Leído por Vicenta López, NI-A Inglés - Traducción de A. S. Kline 2004
Yo voy soñando caminos
de la tarde. ¡Las colinas
doradas, los verdes pinos,
las polvorientas encinas!...
¿Adónde el camino irá?
Yo voy cantando, viajero,
a lo largo del sendero...
—La tarde cayendo está—.
En el corazón tenía
la espina de una pasión;
logré arrancármela un día;
ya no siento el corazón.
Y todo el campo un momento
se queda, mudo y sombrío,
meditando. Suena el viento
en los álamos del río.
La tarde más se oscurece;
y el camino se serpea
y débilmente blanquea,
se enturbia y desaparece.
Mi cantar vuelve a plañir:
Aguda espina dorada,
quién te volviera a sentir
en el corazón clavada.
I go dreaming down roadways
of evening.
Emerald pine-trees
golden hillsides
dusty oak-leaves!…
Where does this road go?
I go travelling, singing,
into the road’s far distance…
– evening falls slow –
‘I bore in my heart
the thorn of passion:
Drew it out one day
And my heart is numb.’
And suddenly all the land
was silent, mute and sombre,
meditating. Sound of the wind
in the riverside poplars.
Evening’s more shadowy
and the turning road
that faintly whitens
blurs, in vanishing.
Lament, my song turns to:
‘Gold thorn, so sharp
Could I but feel you
lodged in my heart.’

THE ROAD NOT TAKEN Robert Frost, 1874-1963
Leído por: Anastasia Gallego-Casilda Monsalve
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

GRETCHENS STUBE (La habitación de Gretchen)
Goethe; Faust Leído por: Kristina Mayr.
Meine Ruh ist hin,
Mein Herz ist schwer;
Ich finde sie nimmer
und nimmermehr.
Wo ich ihn nicht hab,
Ist mir das Grab,
Die ganze Welt
Ist mir vergällt.
Mein armer Kopf
Ist mir verrückt,
Mein armer Sinn
Ist mir zerstückt.
Meine Ruh ist hin,
Mein Herz ist schwer,
Ich finde sie nimmer
und nimmermehr.
Nach ihm nur schau ich
Sein hoher Gang,
Sein edle Gestalt,
Seines Mundes Lächeln,
Seiner Augen Gewalt,
Und seiner Rede
Zauberfluß,
Sein Händedruck,
Und ach! sein Kuß!
Meine Ruh ist hin,
Mein Herz ist schwer,
Ich finde sie nimmer
und nimmermehr.
Mein Busen drängt
Sich nach ihm hin,
Ach dürft ich fassen
Und halten ihn,
Und küssen ihn,
31
Zum Fenster hinaus,
Nach ihm nur geh ich
Aus dem Haus.
So wie ich wollt,
An seinen Küssen
Vergehen sollt!

TRAUER (Luto)
Autor: Peter Cornelius
Leído por: María Marín, A2
Ich wandle einsam,
Mein Weg ist lang;
Zum Himmel schau ich
Hinauf so bang.
Kein Stern von oben
Blickt niederwärts,
Glanzlos der Himmel,
Dunkel mein Herz.
Mein Herz und der Himmel
Hat gleiche Not,
Sein Glanz ist erloschen,
Mein Lieb ist tot.

CHANT D’AUTOMNE Charles Baudelaire - Leído por: Isabel Montes
Bientôt nous plongerons dans les froides ténèbres;
II
Même pour un ingrat, même pour un méchant;

escondida,
agua, vienes hasta mí,
manantial de nueva vida
de donde nunca bebí?
Anoche cuando dormía
soñé, ¡bendita ilusión!,
que una colmena tenía
dentro de mi corazón;
y las doradas abejas
iban fabricando en él,
con las amarguras viejas,
blanca cera y dulce miel.
Anoche cuando dormía
soñé, ¡bendita ilusión!,
que un ardiente sol lucía
dentro de mi corazón.
Vincent Van Gogh: La sieste
37
Era ardiente porque daba
calores de rojo hogar,
y era sol porque alumbraba
y porque hacía llorar.
Anoche cuando dormía
soñé, ¡bendita ilusión!,
que era Dios lo que tenía
dentro de mi corazón.
Y HA DE MORIR EL MUNDO MAGO… Alex StefanellI
And is that magical world to die with you,
where memory goes guarding
life’s purest breaths
first love’s white shadow,
the voice that entered your heart, the hand
that you had wished to hold in dream,
and all things loved
that touched the soul, the depths of sky?
And is that world of yours to die with you,
the old life you renewed and set in order?
Have the anvils and crucibles of your spirit
laboured here only for dust and wind?

CANTARES… Leídos por Loli Ferrer y Mª Mar Blanco, NI – A, Inglés
All goes, and all remains,
but our task is to go,
to go creating roads
roads through the sea.
My songs never chased
after glory to remain
in human memory.
I love the subtle worlds
weightless and charming,
worlds like soap-bubbles.
I like to see them, daubed
with sunlight and scarlet,
quiver, under a blue sky,
suddenly and burst…
I never chased glory.
Traveller, the road is only
your footprint, and no more;
traveller, there’s no road,
the road is your travelling.
Going becomes the road
and if you look back
you will see a path
none can tread again.
Traveller, every track
leaves its wake on the sea…
Once in this place
where bushes now have thorns
the sound of a poet’s cry was heard
‘Traveller there’s no road
the road is your travelling…’
Step by step, line by line…
The poet died far from home.
Shrouded by dust of a neighbouring land.
At his parting they heard him cry:
‘Traveller there’s no road
the road is your travelling…’
Step by step, line by line…
When the goldfinch can’t sing,
when the poet’s a wanderer,
when nothing aids our prayer.
‘Traveller there’s no road
the road is your travelling…’
Step by step, line by line.
