WILLKOMMEN!

WELCOME! Music is part of the digital culture and economy – and it was back when other fields were still very much taking the analogue route and engaging in the traditional business of culture. The music industry became an experimental laboratory, one that other creative branches look to with a sense of expectation, while technology-driv-en sectors race ahead – not in importance but in sales.

And so in this year of the Reeper-bahn Festival there is an unusually large number of topics in the pro-gramme that at first glance seem to have little to do with the bread-and-butter business of the music and live entertainment industry: „Free-to-Play“, „New Story Telling“, „Being a young entrepreneur“ or „New urban digital Interventions“.

These topics are probably not enough to lure every music pro-fessional, developer, investor, or digital start-up to the Reeperbahn Festival. But that has to be the goal! Because anyone who wants to be successful making, selling, and marketing music needs the knowledge, the contacts, and most of all the inspiration provided by other creative and courageous people – regardless of what indus-try they’re in.

And so, for now, we’ve adopted the slogan “Talents, Trends & Trade”. At this year’s Reeperbahn Festival Campus you’ll see talents equipped with guitar, paintbrush, laptop, or just plain ideas, you’ll find out about trends in both the analogue and digital realms, and, in the best case scenario, it’s our hope that you’ll take something tangible home with you.

And please don’t forget that be-yond all the conference content there’s plenty of fun to be had at networking events, showcases, parties, and shows.

We’re glad you’re here! Have a great time at Reeperbahn Festival Campus 2013!Your Reeperbahn Festival Team

WUNDERKINDER – GERMAN MUSIC TALENT is an initiative to promote the sale of German music in  non-German territories. In  cooperation with Initiative Musik, the Reeperbahn Festival has invited 50 handpicked international talent buyers from the recording industry, manage-ment,  and live entertainment sectors. On September 25th these buyers will be treated  to performances by twelve German acts in three different venues. To receive an invitation foreign buyers were required to  submit applica-tions.

From 20.30 onwards the following German bands and solo artists will perform at  Molotow, Prinzenbar, and Imperial Theater:Abby, Ben  Ivory, Chuckamuck, David  Lemaitre, DENA, Fuck  Art, Let‘s Dance!, Hundreds, Jack Beaure gard, Me  And My Drummer, Okta Logue, Roosevelt, Stabil Elite.

Greg  Parmley (ILMC, UK), Allan McGowan (Editor, VIP Magazine, UK), and Steve Blame  (Presenter/Author, UK)  will be presenting at the three venues.

“German Music Talent“ is supported by the Initi-ative Musik Non-profit Project Company Ltd. with project funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media on the basis of a resolution passed by the German Bundestag.

Prior to the performances there will be a special edition of Ray’s Reeper-bahn  Revue at Mojo Club, starting at 19.30. It’s Ray’s fifth year at the Reeperbahn Festival and in this spe-cial show he’ll introduce four of the Wunderkinder  programme artists with his familiar characteristic charm.

DAVE STEWART: WHERE IS THE MONEY?Musical mastermind of the Eu-rythmics, member of the UK Hall of Fame, winner of Grammy and Golden Globe and more than 100 million album sales – what more can be said about Dave Stewart? Well, a lot more! Dave Stewart takes an extremely broad approach to the creative industries – no doubt due in large part to the fact that beyond his widely known work as a musician, the multitalented Stewart is also a scriptwriter, photogra-pher, entrepreneur, promoter, and

social activist. Stewart’s company Weapons of Mass Entertainment (WME) e.g. links creative ideas to projects in the fields of music, film, television, books, theatre, and new media. We’re looking forward to an inspir-ing Reeperbahn Festival keynote address from the man The Sunday Times aptly described as a “Jack of All Trades Master of All of Them”: Dave Stewart.

Venue/Time see page 37 We would like to thank Membran Entertainment Group GmbH for their support.

ALL THE TECHNOLOGY YOU’LL EVER NEED

IN A WRISTBAND

Technology combined with a fraud proof wristband is the ideal way

of identifying people. It is not only the best method for identifying

visitors and staff but has proven to be the most effective way to apply

RFID payment solutions, visitor registration and brand activation.

10 years ago our love for wristbands started to take off with a new

printing technology. Over the years our passion only became stronger

as the wristband made it possible to develop high-tech solutions to

help professionalize large events.
