Brief Introduction to APCEIU

Establishment •The Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for

International Understanding (APCEIU) was established in 2000 to promote EIU for Learning to Live Together in the Asia-Pacific region according to the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Korea and UNESCO.

What is EIU?•The most representative UNESCO educa-

tional program launched since its begin-ning in 1946

•Priority has been changed, but three core principles are still effective: 1) Respect of diversity2) Respect of Universal Values – Human

rights, Peace, Environment 3) Non-violent way of conflict resolution
