have been many sad

cases of businesses

closing, retrench-

ments and struggles

physically, emotion-

ally and Spiritually. It

is at times like this

where we reflect on

the year that I am so glad that I have my Jesus who I can turn to when

I need to be lifted up and encouraged. It is at times like this where I

remember how many times I cried out for help and my help came

from Jesus. As a church we continue to pray for all who believe in

Jesus and also for all who are lost and lead a life dependant on the

world and the comfort of the world. My heart and prayers go out to

those who are struggling and have not got the comfort of Jesus who

cares for us all we just need to accept Jesus as Saviour and enjoy

His love and care.

As we look at the tough times I am very aware of how businesses are

struggling as we are constantly trying to raise funds for our outreach

Indawo Yosizo and there are fewer and fewer people who can manage

to support us. With this in mind I would like you to look at the graph

below and see what we are dealing with. The graph of the number of

people we are looking after (both children and adults) keeps on rising

and it is becoming more and more difficult for us to provide for the

folk.

While we struggle with our own tough times as we look at these

figures and facts we realize that there are many who are struggling

much more than we are. I ask that as we come to the season of cel-

ebrating Jesus birthday that we say a prayer for these folk and in-

deed all who are struggling more than we are. If you feel that you

would like to help support these folk please feel free to contact Ray

082 656 3123 and we can discuss the different ways in which we can

receive donations. I pray that 2013 would be a blessed and joyful year

for all and one that we can glorify God as we continue to live out His

calling.

Voor jy uitgaan by die deurrowers het vanaf geen rigting opgedaag en n vuurwapen deur die

voertuig se venster, wat op n gleuf oop was, ingedruk. Nadat Fred

die dames beveel het om uit te klim, het n skoot geklap, voordat hul

skaars n meter van die voertuig af weg beweeg het. Voordat Eugenie

Wahl die woorde kon uiter, gee die motor vir hulle Fred, is daar n

vuurwapen op haar gerig en moes sy dood gedwonge maar terug

draai en wag vir die slag. Fred is die geleentheid gegee om uit die

voertuig te klim en het toe reeds n skiet wond gehad. Dit alles in net

3 minute.

Wanneer dit jou oorkom is die skok so groot dat jy nie self kan bid

nie en dit het ons altwee ervaar. Ek het wel gevra Here help, maar dit

was al. Daarom is die vraag: Is jy gereed vir die ewige? Ons was die

oggend by n goeie vriend wat so indringend vir ons gebid het en die

Here se beskerming op ons afgebid het, daarna by n vergadering en

helaas op die toneel vertel Eugenie. Die Saterdag oggend na die

gebeurte het hul verneem dat n vriend in gebed vir hul ingetree het

daardie Vrydag. Met die Here se beskerming is die patroon van die

vuurwapen regdeur Fred se liggaam, selfs die dokter wat die

voorbereidings vir die teater gedoen het, kon nie verstaan waarvoor

Fred vir die teater voorberei word nie en het Fred onmiddelik ontslaan.

Talle mense het gebid en dit is net n bewys dat ons n lewende God

dien wat nog wonderwerke doen.

Hiermee wil ons ook gebruik maak om vir elkeen wat op die toneel was

om te help, elke telefoon oproep, sms wat ek nie kon terug antwoord

nie, want daar was te veel, wil ons ons waardering uitspreek. Elke

gebed wat gebid is, ons weet daarvan en waardeer dit opreg.

Dit gaan baie goed met Fred. Ons werk nog

so bietjie aan die asemhaling maar met God

wat die wond en ingewande genees het, is dit

maar skok wat n uitwerking op die asemhaling

het.

The Ekurhuleni Metro wishes to inform residents and

businesses of the closure of council offices between

Christmas and New Year.

All administrative offices, libraries, selected rates halls

and pay points will be closed from December 24 to Janu-

ary 1, 2013 and will re-open on January 2.

Essential services, such as refuse collection, electricity

and water services, will however be operational. Emer-

gency services and the Ekurhuleni Police are also clas-

sified as essential services.

The closure of non-essential services is to ensure that

the Metro accommodates employees who take ordinary

this season, when residents and business need less serv-

ice offering from the Metro.

Meanwhile the municipality wishes to caution residents

and business owners to refrain from giving gifts to on-

ing and challenging year.

deal of restraint, understanding and harmony.

For those who will be embarking on journeys

to their various destinations of holiday, I wish

you safe travel with the comfort of knowing

that you will adhere to the laws of the road

and arrive alive.

As we head towards the year 2013, may happy

times never leave you throughout the year

and special memories brighten each day.

Two former Nigel residents, Babsie and Julian Ginder, devote much

of their spare time to helping the Nyeletis Childrens Home in

Benoni.

They find their voluntary contribution rewarding and fulfilling. The

home is situated in Benoni and is an inter-denominational organisa-

tion, caring for abused and homeless children and orphans. The home

provides shelter, clothing, food and education to needy children,

regardless, of race or creed.

Nyeletis is completely reliant on donations of any nature including

food, clothes, home supplies and money. They have now been wait-

ing for government subsidies or sponsorship for more than six years.

Babsie and Julian have been donating food and clothing to the home

for four years and feel the need to support the home wherever they

can. On a visit to the home in November, they discovered that there

was a real need for some painting to be done, especially in the chil-

drens bedrooms.

Curtains and curtain rails are needed and there is plenty of repair

work to be done such as to shelving. There are two girls bedrooms

and one large bedroom for the boys. The home is now trying to

convert an outside room into a bedroom for the older boys.

So any building material donated would be welcomed.

Babsie and Julian say that all donations are much appreciated.

The house is very clean and much care is given to the outside prop-

erty. Now there is a plan to grow vegetables for the childrens meals.

Donations that cannot be used are usually sold in the tuck shop at

the front of the home and the money is used for the needs of the

children.

The numbers of orphans is increasing daily so an increase in dona-

tions would definitely make a difference in the lives of these kids.

Its that time of the year again.When you are looking forward to a holi-day and also booked your dog in the ken-nels to have a well deserved break fromhumans and take a good look at otherdogs without wanting to fight them.My experience is not good. Last year thetrip to the kennels was not one to remem-ber.Firstly the border collie decided to some-how stick to the ground and I contem-plating hiring a fork-lift truck. When Ieventually got her in the car the canineeyes told the story.You are going away and will have a goodtime and you are dumping me with myblanket and a box of biscuits.She sat on the back seat and I could feelthe doggie resentment on the road.So much so that I passed the kennel turn-off and decided to do two things at once get my car license disc and drop thedog off on the way back. By the time Igot to the license office, the dog had de-cided to stand on her head on the backseat, with legs splayed out on the backwindow.Got the license, came back to the car anda friendly man in uniform came up. Areyou OK? he said. I said I was fine.He then said Your dog is standing on itshead. I said I knew and that this wasperfectly normal.I couldnt get the attention of the dog be-cause she is deaf and I knew if I touchedher she would emit her traditional wolf-like howl, which would attract more at-tention.So back to the kennels, dog delivered withblanket and biscuits in an upright positionand one doubtful look as I said my good-byes and tried in sign language to as-sure her I would be back soon.Now I face the same situation.I really dont need anyone telling me thatmy dogs legs are in the rear window ofthe car.I spoke to an animal expert about the prob-lem and was told to put a toy dog along-side her in the car. She tore it to pieces.

Col Arikum, showed her talent for organizinggames for the children, which they thor-oughly enjoyed. The highlight of the partywas, of course, the arrival of Father Christ-mas and the handing out of gifts. There werealso snacks to enjoy and this was a day theChance kids will remember for a long time.

Students of the year

Trophies were awarded to the students of the year at the Goju Ryu Karate,

Nigel recently. Pictured at the back: Pedro de Freitas who received the

trophy for the best all-round student of 2012. Front right: Monique Pratt

received the trophy for the senior student of 2012 and Michelle Honiball

was awarded the trophy for junior student 2012.

This has been a successful year for the club and these students and all

those who were graded have worked hard for their achievements.

Sien dit so: God het aan my en jou vryheid van keuse gegee.Volgens Openb. 3:20 het Hy aan my en jou die uitnodiging gegeeom by Sy liefdesplan in te skakel, maar ons moet >ja= s en ditbeteken om tot bekering te kom.
