Psychological Assessing of Candidates


I suggest that psychological assessment of candidates must be made mandatory in all formation

houses and assessment of candidates/temporary professed religious should be done before they are

being recommended for promotion from one stage of formation to another. The psychological

assessment among other things must also include, such as sexual orientation, emotional maturity,

personal aptitude, and son.

International Seminary for Philosophy & Theology


As most of the vocations for Brothers and Priests come from Africa, India and Bangladesh, it would

be feasible to have a common Major Seminary in Asia, Preferably in Pune, India. /

A need to have an international director for all the formation programs in the congregations that

would serve as formation supervisor


As we enter into the program of international houses of formation, I would sugget that we create a

central office whose director would be mandated to oversee the running of these houses through the

collaboration with the Formation Directors and with the Superior General. I would also suggest that

we begin traning the future formators who will run these established houses before they assume

thier positions of responsibility.

Como prepará mejor los futuros formadores para la casa internación de formacion


Pues, creo que es bueno que en el programa de la formación tenga incluido, un formación para los

religiosos que irán asumir las casas internación de formación en el futuro, porque creo que ayudaría

muchos tanto para los formadores como para los formados, se o formador pudiese hacer una

experiencia de algunos meses en cada país, de donde es cada formando que compone la casa

internacional de formación. Y también creo que debería hacer una avaluación de los cuatro anos de

existencia de la Casa Internacional de formación en Chile, para se saber lo que esta caminando y lo

que deber ser revisto, para poder así ayudar que lo proyecto de casas internacionales de formación

pueda existir y contribuya para la formación de los nuevos religiosos de Santa Cruz, en una

formación clara del camino y de cual es los objetivos que se espera de esta experiencia.

I would like to see this manifest itself across the broad spectrum of all the sectors of the Congregation

and just the limited areas as we have it currently. It should also be possible to draw formators from

across the the entire Congregation in as long as they have the expertise.

Visible Participation and Involvement of Holy Cross at World Youth Days


To make ourselves more visible and increase our Vocations and Recruitment drive, the General

Administration should take it upon itself to look for funds and sponsor at least three (3) young men

who may be prospective candidates drawn from each sector of the Congregation to participate in the

WYD which goes on every two (2) years. This I believe would encourage some of these young men

into our community. / Additionally, the Vocations/Formation offices should mount stages/platforms

during WYDs and distribute more brochures/T‐shirts, materials on St. Br. Andre to encourage

vocations at WYDs. / Lastly, but not least, we could also form associations across the entire

Congregation called "St. Br. Andre Youth For Life" or simply "Andre Youth For Life" or Dot Com.

Casa Internacional de formacion


Pensar un poco nuevas estructuras internacionales, la casa en Chile no necesariamente como de

estudios, mas sin como casa de formación, además que Chile no es el único lugar de pensamiento

teológico de modo especial, teología Latinoamérica, pues la teología es muy clásica sin casi nada que

ve con la realidad latinoamericana. /

Taking care of the candidate


I think candidates should be well formed with wider view of the congregation. At the same time, we

need to take proper care of them, and also need to encourage the young generation to join Holy

Cross.

I feel that vocation is a flow . It is like high tide and low tide in the river. So according to the situation

places we have to move forward where we may get vocation.

Vocation Promotion (recruitment)


Advertising gets results! Why do all the major industries advertise? To sell their product. Vocation

promotion must be a united effort of the Congregation of Holy Cross. It cannot be a province

responsibility with someone assigned as the coordinator, promoter, recruiter, etc. Without "recruits"

there will be little or no need for formation! / Therefore, professional services are needed. /

To have policy not to change the formation program.


I humbly request the committee to see that we make a considerable change in the GC for doing

justice to the vocation and formation program. I suggest that we need to make a long term policy on

the formation structure. I suggust that we should make it a point not to play with the formation

years with changing very often. it is sad to see that the formation goes without dignity and divine

plan. better to have some policies that would make the formation great!

Selection of Formators


Formation is the most priority. We say it but do not follow it. Formation works are neglected. There

should be some criteria for selection of formators. Formators are coming just after ordination or 6

months or one year parish work, without enough experience. Formators should have some study on

Formation Program, but most of the formators in my province have no education in formation. Their

academic background including Philosophy and Theology studies are also poor. In fact formees are

suffering.
