· Lucrative China Retail MarketRetail sales in China, the world’s second-largest economy will rise at least 12 percent in each of the next
three years, according to economists surveyed by Bloomberg News. Cities across Greater China are the
most attractive Asia-Pacific region locations for international retailers.
· Increasing Supply of Shopping MallsOver half of all the world’s shopping center space under construction is situated in Chinese cities. Taking
the measure of cities by malls completed in 2013, China boasts nine of the world’s top ten. And China
accounted for 73 percent of commercial property investments in Asia in the first half of 2014.
· Rapid Growth of Online and Mobile Shopping iResearch estimates China mobile shopping market is going to exceed RMB800 billion (US$129.7 billion)
in 2014, 30% of total total online shopping transactions; over half of China’s online shopping transactions
will be on mobile by 2016.
The Changing Customer Needs Retailing is forever changing. The customer is diversifying, evolving and
adopting a range of ways to shop. Customer behavior and shopping trends
dictate how retailing must respond in order to remain at the forefront of the
consumers’needs. In addition, the rapid changes in the retail and real estate
environment forces us to rethink the way we should manage our common
future.
The Platform for Inspiration, Business and NetworkingThe ICSC China Retail Summit and Connections will examine how we must engage with customers on
different levels to encourage loyalty and drive new business by offering the consumer more choices and
ultimately creating true retail destinations to enhance the value of retail. With our highly commended
speakers and panelists we are looking forward to an interesting debate and solutions to some of the most
pertinent issues in our industry today.
