BACKGROUNDTHE MILITARY SKILLS DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM (MSDS)

STUDY OPPORTUNITIES / UNIVERSITY STUDIES – STUDENT ENGINEER

Applications are awaited from persons interested in enrolling for a BSc Engineering or a BEng Degree in one of the following fields of studies:

Aeronautical (SAAF/AERO/12) Electronic (SAAF/ELEC/12)

Industrial (SAAF/IND/12) Mechanical (SAAF/MECH/12)

Minimum requirements:

To be considered for appointment in the SA Air Force you must comply with the following requirements:

Be a SA citizen (Relinquish any other citizenship he/she may have.

Between 18-22 years and/or Graduates up to the age of 26

Must be single when applying and remain single for the duration of training.

Must not have a criminal record.

Completed/will be completing Grade 12 during 2012 with full matriculation exemption or National Senior Certificate

(NSC) Level 5 and Higher.

Mathematics Literacy will not be considered.

Comply with medical fitness requirements

Must be recommended for consideration by a consolidated selection board.

Qualified Engineers and those currently studying in one of the above-mentioned fields are welcome to apply (Please enquire)

ALL Engineering students will be subjected to:

Basic Military Training

Officers Formative Training

University degree studies,(Commencing January 2014 Intake). Engineering studies will be conducted at either the University

of Pretoria, University of Stellenbosch, University of Johannesburg, University of Witwatersrand and University of Cape Town.
