Allahumma salli ‘ala sayyidina Muhammadin

O Allah shower blessings and peace upon our master Muhammad

wa ‘ala ali Muhammadan wa sahbihi wa sallim

and upon the family of Muhammad and his companions

Salat Sharif, the shortest complete salawat. Universally known, it also appears in the

evening litany, or Wird al-Sharif al-Saghir, of Hazreti Nureddin al-Jerrahi, may Allah sanctify

his spirit

O Allah please shower your blessings upon our Master Muhammad

wa ‘ala ali Muhammadin

and upon the family of Muhammad

kama sallayta ‘ala Ibrahim

as you have showered your blessings upon Abraham

wa ‘ala ali Ibrahim

and the family of Abraham,

innaka hamidun majid

indeed You are Most Praiseworthy and Glorious

Wa barik ‘ala sayyidina Muhammadin

O Allah shower Your grace upon our master Muhammad



kama barakta ‘ala Ibrahim

as you have showered Your grace upon Abraham

ma-khtalafa-l-malawan

as long as day and night interchange,

wa ta‘aqaba-l-‘asaran wa karrara-l-jadidan

the ages succeed each other, day and night are renewed,

wa-staqbala-l-farqadan

and the two bright stars appear facing each other.

wa baligh ruhahu wa arwaha ahli baytihi

Convey to his soul and the souls of the people of his household

minna-t-tahiyyata wa-s-salam

greetings and peace

wa barik wa sallim ‘alayhi

and bestow upon him Your blessings and peace

kathiran kathiran kathira

in abundance, in abundance, in abundance!

Wa salla-Llahu ‘ala sayyidina Muhammadin

May Allah bestow His peace and blessings upon our master Muhammad

wa ‘ala jami‘i-l-anbiya’i wa-l-mursalin

and all the prophets and messengers,

wa-l-awliya’i wa-s-salihin

the friends of Allah and the righteous,

wa ‘ala mala’ikatika wa-l-muqarrabin

the angels and those close to the divine Throne

wa ‘ala ahli ta‘atika ajma‘ina

and all those worshipping you

min ahli-s-samawati wa ahli-l-aradin

among the inhabitants of the heavens or the earths.

Ridwanu-Llahi ta‘Ala

May the pleasure of Allah Most High be upon

‘ala ali Rasuli-Llahi wa ashabihi ajma‘ina

the family of the messenger of Allah and all his companions.

bi-Rahmatika Ya Arhama-r-Rahimin

By Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the Merciful.

Amina wa-l-Hamdu li-Llahi Rabbi-l-‘alamin

Amin, praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.

Upon our spiritual master and guide Muhammad

As long as this vast creation lasts

And to the sublime souls of his spiritual lineage

Your divine peace and blessings

In abundance in abundance in abundance

Most Beloved Allah please exalt

To the highest degree our master Muhammad

Along with all holy prophets who transmit

The one essential light of guidance

Please exalt the sublime servants of knowledge and love

All the devoted lovers Your holy angels

And the rare souls near Your throne

As well as all persons who seek and follow Truth

Wherever they may exists

In your countless heavens and worlds

May the infinite sweetness

Of the good pleasure of Allah Most High

Permeate the noble family of the Messenger of Allah

And all his noble companions throughout time

Through Your boundless mercy alone

O Essence of Mercy

Amin amin wa-l-Hamdu-li-Llahi-r-Rabbi-l-‘alamin

and drops of (the) rain (of Allah’s Mercy),

wa barik wa sallim alayhi kathiran kathiran kathira

and bless him in abundance, in abundance, in abundance!
