Instructions

The children form groups and each group gets an envelope. In this envelopes there are some sheets of paper with information about “a school day in England”. The groups have to bring them in order. Following they can control if they are right or wrong with an answer sheet on the blackboard.

You can combine this exercise whit the following game “Yes or No”, to control the teaching aims.

A School-Day in England

8:45 am: The students start arriving on the playground. They wait for their teacher.The children wear a school uniform and carry their homework and packed lunch in a school bag.

School begins at 8:55 am. The children go to their classroom with their teacher.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RegistrationIn the classroom the teacher reads out each child’s name in turn every morning.

AssemblyAt 9:10 am the children go to assembly in the main hall

In the assemblies the children listen to a story, sing a song and pray.The first lesson of the day begins at 9:30 am. The morning lessons are English or Mathematics.

Break Time (Recess)The children have their morning break from 10:20 - 10:35 am. They bring a snack from home to eat in the playgrounds. The children play games on the playgrounds.

Lesson Two The children will then have an English or Mathematics lesson before Lunch time.

Lunch time is from 12 noon to 1:10 pm. Most children bring their own packed lunch from home. Some children will have a School Dinner, cooked in the school kitchen.

The afternoon begins with reading activities.

The rest of the afternoon is spent learning one or two of the other school subjects:Gymnastics, Science, History Crafts, Art and Computers.At 3:15 pm the children go home.
