    2009ARTS Corner

    English Society Our objective is to create an English-rich environment which provides more opportunities for students to use the language actively. This year, we continued to focus on activities which allowed students to apply the language in daily interaction and communication. The Halloween Activity Days co-organized with the Student Association were again the fruit of the effort and talent of our teachers and students bringing great fun and excitement to students and teachers alike. English Corner was set up every day at lunch time for S.1 students to strengthen students different aspects in English and to maximize their exposure to English outside classroom . A full house was expected and realized almost every day. New attractions this year included several lunch activities on Friday and English Ambassadors Training every Tuesday after school. Different themes like Space, Halloween, A Life Warrior Nick Vujicic and Valentines Day Songs Dedication were set for the lunch activities. There games stalls, film shows or power point slide shows were prepared for students so that they can be given a chance to use English in different contexts. As for the English Ambassadors Training, the newly-employed Graduate English Language Tutor (GELT) provided training in organizing events and coordinating work in English for all the committee members of English Society. The English Ambassadors were the highlight of all the events this year.
