FocusThis interactive session will focus on the correct approach to the oral and maxillofacial surgical patient. It will be discussed how to avoid and manage common complications in palatal surgery and closure of oronasal fistulas, in dental extraction procedures, in trauma and oncological cases, and other oral and maxillofacial procedures. Clinical cases and videos will be utilized to practically discuss these topics. Participants will have the possibility to bring their own clinical cases to be discussed with the tutors and the entire group. FocusSpecialized techniques and treatment approaches from the field of physical therapy and rehabilitation have been creatively adapted to benefit small animal rehabilitation patients. This lecture will introduce proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) and other motor control-based treatment approaches, their procedures, and techniques for treatment of small animal neuro-rehabilitation patients, as well as those with orthopaedic issues. The lecturer will discuss and demonstrate evaluation, assessment, treatment planning, and treatment techniques based on the PNF philosophy, for patients in all stages of functional recovery.
