HERSTORY: WOMEN ARTISTS OF THE 1700s
AND 1800s - Parishioner Teresa L. Martinelli will be instructing this series that will examine the art and biographies of women from Rococo through Impressionist eras. In the 1700s, aristocratic women enjoyed economic and political power, and they championed female artists, such as Labille-Guiard. The French revolution brought a backlash against women in the public realm, yet by the end of the 1800s, there were again significant women artists, notably the Impressionist painters, Berthe Morisot and Mary Cassatt. To register online: https://communityed.santarosa.edu. Class ID: 6937, Fee: $98.00, Class location: 708 Analy Hall at Santa Rosa Junior College. Class dates: Wednesdays, September 6, 13, & 20 from 6 – 8 p.m.
