    releases contrasts with the cold grey

    and white rigid geometry of the floor

    and horizontal shelves of regular

    books.

    Ceiling:Solid white flat hard surface

    Rear Wall:Translucent white textile soft surface

    Rear wall of the store is white

    like the ceiling so as not to

    detract from green walls of

    books but has curtain backdrop

    instead of solid drywall

    FOCAL POINTSLine of Pendent lighting leads to Special Editions Section

    Center of Store:Line of golden tables are lit with

    pendants that draw focal attention to

    New Releases in the store center and

    lead to a focal point at the Rear of

    the Store

    Rear of Store:Painting, change in texture, colorful

    lights all attract focal attention to a

    table of Special Editions. Focal point

    emphasized by ceiling lights as well.

    CONCLUSIONDesign does not overwhelm: Its all about the books

    Summary of Design Features:Contrast is used in all forms to emphasize

    the three types of books for sale.

    -Bold colors to attract attention to the

    well lit bookcases along the walls.-Hanging pendant lights over gold tables

    to attract attention to new releases in

    the center

    -Strong Focal Point at Rear of the Store to

    draw attention to special editions.

    -Prominent brand name is always visible

    Table at Rear with colored

    lights overhead and new focal

    point with all lights leading to

    the Brand Name: Taschen
