Moses SIMPSON (son of Alexander SIMPSON, the Revolutionary soldier)who left such an interesting account of his journey, as a young man,from N, Jersey to Ohio in mentions this settlement, where hefound his uncles, Sphriam SIMPSON and Moses BADGLEY, and says ittook lt*s name from the tavern of that name. (This tavern was ownedby the BALL family. The second-oldestcontinuous African-American/Black family reunion in the United States, your family has beenenriched with each new generation, and in order to formally recognize this wonderful bond, theSimpson Family will conduct its One Hundredth Annual Family Reunion set to the theme, "100Years And Growing."

Over the years, the members of your family have worked together to continually seekout new Simpson relatives sind welcome them to this special annual event. Under thecapable leadership of Bernard McCIung, current president, the ninety-eighth Simpsonreunion saw an outstanding turnout of over seven hundred people and the activeparticipation of many of tfre yuunger generations. In applauding the Simpson family forbuilding and maintaining these important family ties, we note with pride that it isthrough such dedicated and enthusiastic efforts that our families remain strong andcontinue to provide a stable and supportive foundation for our society.
