In large-scale engagements, where theenemy is wont to overwhelm the Sisters ofBattle’s defence lines with an unstoppableapplication of force, a Canoness maysanction the formation of Purge Squadronsto cleanse the threat from the battlefield.Such an action is never taken lightly, for bydeploying of the greater proportion of theOrder’s Retributors and Immolators in sucha formation can leave other Sororitas unitswithout heavy fire support of their own.However, there are few foes that can standagainst the combined firepower of a PurgeSquadron. Equipped with the AdeptaSororitas’ holy trinity of weapons, theyunleash a rolling wall of bolter shells, flames

and melta blasts that devastates everythingthat dares to stand in its path.

Fire and Faith:

If this formation combines their shootingattacks (see Wall of Fire below) and even asingle unit makes a successful DivineGuidance Act of Faith roll, the combinedshooting attack’s profile gains the Rendingspecial rule.

Wall of Fire:

Six or more units in the formation cancombine their shooting attacks into a singleattack using one of the profiles below. All ofthe firing units must have at least one modelthat is in range and has line of sight to thetarget.

Repentant Hosts are typically formed whenseveral Orders Militant have cause to joinforces, such as when the Ecclesiarchydeclares a War of Faith or a when a shrineworld comes under attack. The SistersRepentia and Penitent Engines that comprisea Repentant Host are rarely therefore fromthe same Order, but they are united in theirdesire to atone for their sins against theEcclesiarchy and the Emperor. Individuallya penitent warrior’s desire for absolutionborders on the maniacal, but when aRepentant Host is formed the collective needfor redemption is amplified to new heights.As the fervour sweeps through theassembled masses they renew their efforts,

refusing to die whilst there is even theslimmest chance of slaying the Emperor’sfoes and earning redemption.
