Why should we use Social Media for business?
Fastest and most effective tool for business nowadays;
Cheap (or free, depending on it);
Huge Impact for all ages;
Networking;
Backpackers – the biggest share of our customers – use it a lot;
By far the most relevant social media today with over 1.2 billion users;
Facebook connected all the useful social medias on a single page – revolutionary;
Use it for photos, videos, promotions and campaigns.
Over 250 million active users;
The main goal is write a message with less than 140 characters;
One of the amazing uses for Twitter is to link stuff from other pages (Facebook and Google Plus), as it gets a huge amount of views;
Twitter is fast, easy and viral.
Gmail
Gmail is the most popular e-mail provider in the world.
It has several services linked to it, such as: Youtube, Google Drive, Google Plus, Google Maps and so on;
Its main use is to be a headquarter for a social media team.
Google Plus – Google Plus Business
Similar to Facebook in every way. People are adopting it quite fast;
It has a version for Companies called Google+ Business;
Awesome tool for interaction between customer and company;
Use it for photos, videos, promotions and campaigns as well.
Youtube
Bought by Google in 2007, Youtube is the greatest Video Network in the world – It has over 100 million daily accesses.
Its main utility is for uploading videos for promotions, tours and events that take place in Bambu Hostels;
Youtube is really useful because you can link the videos wherever you want.
Stumble Upon Stumble Upon is a social media created based on searching
engines;
Based on a list of user-selected interests, it searches communities, websites, blogs and forums that we aren’t able to find with the conventional searching engines;
Stumble Upon is growing really fast, especially in Europe.
LinkedIn LinkedIn is a work social media. Some of the options when you
sign on is to create your profile based on your professional career, your job experience and operational area;
Companies can create their own profile as well, where you can look for people to work for you, set interviews and a lot more;
The main goal for Bambu Hostels Group on LinkedIn is to get in touch with other hostels and companies for promotions, joint actions and even partnership.
Tumblr
Tumblr is a blogging network. It is really complete and it has a great public worldwide;
Ideal for articles with subjects like tourism, backpacking, travelling, culture and local events;
Really easy and simple.
Pinterest Really cool and different social media. The concept is to “Pin”
stuff on a world map;
The social media uses “interest filtering” as well;
Useful for promoting Bambu Hostels’ events;
There is an app where the traveller can check all the events taking place in the city where he currently is.
Instagram Instagram is a photo-based social media;
The software was developed for smartphones only, but there is a program called Gramblr which allows you to upload photos from your computer on Instagram;
The shape is pretty much “Photo + Comment”;
It has a plug-in for Facebook – really useful for casual snaps.
WeHostels An app that allows the user searching the Hostels around,
wherever he/she is;
We currently have only Bambu Iguassu listed on WeHostels – it is really necessary to add the other ones;
Amazing tools for those backpackers that don’t like to plan their trips;
Over Fifty Thousand downloads during the last month.
