    the freedom expressed by the birds eye view

    Customers want cars that are expres-

    sive and fun to drive without breaking the

    bank, says Ford Marketing Manager,

    Gavin Golightly. Fiesta delivers all the

    excitement and performance drivers are

    looking for with the added bonus of excep-

    tional fuel efficiency.

    With a fresh new exterior, improvedma-

    terial craftsmanship inside and a signifi-

    cant injection of the latest technology from

    Ford, the new Fiesta is sure to turn heads.

    The new Fiesta face is dominated by a

    large trapezoidal front grille bracketed by

    laser-cut headlampswithdaytime running

    lamps that use LED technology and a pow-

    er-dome bonnet design. A range of 12 vi-

    brant and dynamic colours, including new

    Copper Pulse, Hot Magenta and Candy

    Blue add further appeal.

    The new Fiesta features a high-gloss fin-

    ish for the upper instrument panel that

    flows to the lower centre console and is rep-

    licated in door panels. A satin-chrome de-

    tailing finish is also offered along with

    Fords signature Ice Blue lighting to illu-

    minate dials, switches and displays. Ford

    has relocated powerwindow switches, and

    interior door handles in the new Fiesta to

    deliver ergonomic improvements and has

    introduced higher quality contact point

    finishes.

    NewFiesta also offers newand improved

    storage solutions including a new central

    arm-rest that provides additional storage

    and door pockets that are larger and more

    practical.

    The most dramatic and distinctive Fies-

    ta to date will deliver exceptional levels of

    fuel efficiency lead by Fords patented new

    1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. This landmark

    engine, already selected for both the Popu-

    lar Mechanics 2012 Breakthrough Award

    and Engine Technology Internationals

    International Engine of the Year Award

    in Europe, records CO2 emissions of just

    99g/km and utilises only 4.3l of petrol per

    100km on a combined cycle route - a clear

    indication of Fords commitment to pro-

    viding consumers with fuel-efficient vehi-

    cles.

    While the diminutive size of the 1.0-litre

    EcoBoost ensures its efficiency, it offers

    performance to rivalmuch larger displace-

    ment engines. With 92kW and 170Nm on

    offer the 1.0-litre EcoBoost delivers more

    power for its size than even some premium

    cars.

    EcoBoost is fundamental to Fords strat-

    egy to provide technologically advanced,

    high-output, smaller-displacement power-

    trains that deliver uncompromising per-

    formance and fuel economy. EcoBoost en-

    gines deliver fuel economy gains of up to

    20 percent and reduction of CO2 emissions

    of up to 15 percent, compared with larger,

    less-efficient engines. Fords leadership

    with EcoBoost has resulted in more than

    125 patents on the technology.

    Ford has also introduced Auto-Start-

    Stop on the 1.0-litre EcoBoost. This feature

    automatically shuts down the enginewhen

    the vehicle is at idle and restarts it when

    the driver wants to move off.

    While the 1.0-litre EcoBoost is garnering

    plenty of attention, Ford will continue to

    offer its tried and tested 1.4-litre petrol and

    1.6-litre TDCi engines within the line-up.

    The 1.4-litre engine is a proven performer

    with 71kW and 125Nm on offer and using

    5.7l of petrol per 100 km. The 1.6-litre turbo

    diesel model produces 70kW and 200Nm

    while using only 3.6l of diesel per 100km

    and emitting just 95 g/km of CO2.

    In addition to its new EcoBoost engine,

    Fiesta boasts a wide array of technologies

    and features that keep drivers connected

    and add to the overall driving experience.

    SYNC introduced recently on Focus

    models, is now also available in the Fiesta

    range allowing the driver to bring digital

    media players and bluetooth enabled mo-

    bile phones in the new Fiesta and operate

    the devices via voice commands and steer-

    ing wheel mounted controls.

    The new Fiesta continues to offer sub-

    stantial safety features. An anti-lock brak-

    ing system (ABS) with electronic brake-

    forcedistribution (EBD) is standardacross

    the entireFiesta range.EBDautomatically

    varies the amount of force applied to each

    of a vehicles brakes based on road condi-

    tions, speed and loading to maximise stop-

    ping powerwhile still maintaining control

    of the vehicle. Hill launch assist, offered

    as an option on Trend derivatives and fit-

    ted as standard on Titaniummodels, helps

    prevent the vehicle from rolling back-

    wards after the driver has come to a stop

    on a slope or incline. Safety is also en-

    hanced with seven airbags (dual front,

    side, curtain airbags and driver knee air-

    bag), earning the Fiesta a five-star Euro

    NCAP safety rating.

    There are three engine derivatives and

    three specification grades on offer allow-

    ingcustomers to choose theFiesta thatbest

    suits their individual needs, while a selec-

    tion of option packs will allow customers

    to tailor a model to their specific needs.

    The range topping Titanium models are

    extensively equipped with premium fea-

    tures such as a keyless entry, power start

    button, auto headlamps, auto dimming

    rearviewmirror, rain sensingwipers, auto

    folding mirrors with puddle lamps and

    cruise control.

    The Fiesta is available with a fully com-

    prehensive 4-year / 120 000 km warranty

    and 4-year / 60 000 kmservice plan. Service

    intervals are staggered at 20 000 km inter-

    vals for the petrol derivative and 15 000 km

    for the diesel models. Customers will also

    benefit from 3-years of Roadside Assist-

    ance and a 5-year corrosion warranty.
