We offer levels in Spanish languages which fall within the framework of European Languages under this category.

Beginner A1 Upper-intermediate

B2

Elementary A2 Advanced C1

Intermediate B1 Proficiency C2

You will learn how to form fundamental grammatical and communicative structures in Spanish, such as greetings, talking about yourself, giving an opinion, conjugating verbs in the present tense, describing yourself and others and talking about likes and dislikes, among other skills.

This Spanish level is for those students who have some previous knowledge of basic Spanish structures. You will increase your

level of grammar and vocabulary and be able to express yourself functionally in various communicative contexts.

This Spanish level is designed for students who already have a general command of some of the more complex structures in the Spanish language and a good vocabulary base. You will make the leap from expressing yourself at a functional level to achieving a certain level of fluency in the language, accompanied by a greater comprehension of the Spanish way of life.

Students at the advanced level already feel comfortable communicating in social situations and speak with a certain degree of fluency. You will largely expand upon your ability to debate and express opinions in detail; to link phrases and sentences cohesively; and to converse about more specific topics outside the realm of commonplace linguistic interchanges.

This Spanish level is for students who already have a solid grasp of the Spanish language and are able to communicate effectively. You will learn to express your ideas at a more abstract level by perfecting your grammar skills and dominating idioms, as well as gain a wider knowledge of Spanish culture.

This Spanish level is for those students with a high command of the Spanish language who want to perfect all areas of linguistic proficiency in order to fully become bilingual. You will focus on refining your oral and written skills while developing a global perspective of Spanish culture in relation to your particular field of interest.

CEI & LANGUAGES combines different pedagogical techniques, centred on a communicative approach, in order to reach every kind of learner. Our goal is to equip you with the skills and concepts necessary to feel comfortable understanding others and making yourself understood in any Spanish-speaking environment. In order to achieve this goal, the teacher combines both theory and practice, addressing all of the linguistic and functional pragmatic aspects of the spoken language, along with key socio-cultural information essential for gaining proficiency. Grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking and vocabulary are always integrated in order to approximate the student to an authentic communicative environment.

As a CEI & LANGUAGES student, you are also encouraged to develop intercultural competence with a combination of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will lead you to create positive relation-ships with the society that surrounds you.

Cooperative learning is a successful teaching strategy in which small teams, each with students of different levels of ability, use a variety of learning activities to improve their understanding of a subject. Each member of a team is responsible not only for learning what is taught but also for helping teammates learn, thus creating an atmosphere of achievement. Students work through the assignment until all group members successfully understand and complete it.

Cooperative efforts result in participants striving for mutual benefit so that all group members:

Gain from each other's efforts. (Your success benefits me and my success benefits you.)

Recognize that all group members share a common fate. (We all sink or swim together here.)

Know that one's performance is mutually caused by oneself and one's team members. (We cannot do it without you.)

Feel proud and jointly celebrate when a group member is recognized for achievement.

Research has shown that cooperative learning techniques:

Promote student learning and academic achievement.

Increase student retention. Enhance student satisfaction with

their learning experience. Help students develop skills in oral

communication. Develop students' social skills. Promote student self-esteem. Help to promote positive race

relations.

The Academic Department is made up of the Academic Coordinator of Spanish and the teaching staff. All our teachers are university graduated (in philosophy, philology, history or literature) and have been specifically trained to teach Spanish as a Foreign Language. They also have a master's degree in Spanish for foreigners, which guarantees their competence as excellent educators. For a better running of the courses, the Academic Department organizes a weekly meeting in order to monitor the students' progress.

The Doncel - Siguenza

Siguenza is an old medieval city with its cathedral, its paved streets, its hand-made shops… It is important to highlight its medieval fair, where the city gets elegant offering the whole tradition and the charm from within.

Siguenza Cathedral

Although the Parador Nacional de Turismo is the most important hotel of the province there are other possible lodgings with facilities to carry out your meetings or events as our rural houses and our special hotels, an alternative full of charm.

Torija has a wide range of monumental, typical Castilian villages, which include its imposing castle, crowning the valley that leads to the city of Guadalajara, its walls and a magnificent Renaissance church. Its artistic heritage is complemented by splendid landscapes and natural environments as Ardal or Pico de la Cantera.

The quality of the old buildings has earned a declaration of a Historical Site for Brihuega. At the entrance of the village stands a roll or pillory and part of the old

wall built by the Arabs and rebuilt after the Reconquest (XIII century).

You can’t miss this charming town on your Castles route around Alcarria described by Nobel laureate Camilo José Cela.

Landscape and peasantry come together in a strong and austere environment, bathed by the passage of a young and Crystal River Tajo.

When visiting this beautiful city, you will be surprised by their ancestral homes, the Monastery of Santa Maria de Ovila founded in the late twelfth century by Alfonso VIII, the interior of the parish church of Santa

María de la Estrella, XVI century, the museum of Prometeion…

This noble town has important examples of artistic and cultural heritage which has made it possible to be declared a Historical Site. Here you can find not only the reflections written by Camilo José Cela left in their path during his trip to the Alcarria, but the adventures and misadventures of the famous Princess of Eboli, lover of luxury and controversial stories that marked the course of her destiny .

Its historic center preserves the medieval streets forming a set of great interest today declared a Historic Artistic. Some of the views we recommend are: The Conception Franciscan convent, (XVI century), the Ducal Palace (XV century), the College of San Buenaventura (XVII century), the collegiate church of Our Lady of the Assumption (thirteenth -XIV), The Teresian museum, with memories of Santa Teresa in Pastrana, paintings, sculptures, documents on Santa Teresa.

The Natural Park Tejera Negra Beech is set by rivers Lillas and Brambles, born in the valley glacier and a representative Buitrera and exceptional beech forest, one of the southernmost of Europe, preserved thanks to its special microclimate and isolation.

This Is a Romanesque parish church. This style retains only the south wall. We highlight interesting vaults, the tower and the chapel of Montufar (seventeenth century).

Of great interest is the set of black architecture, including its church, slate and wood base. About the village are the ages of great tradition and natural beauty, which hosts the Dance of the Blessed, ten days after Corpus, declared of tourist interest.

Umbralejo is hidden in a forest of pines and some oak trees. It has approximately 70 buildings between houses, barns and other structures, the same as already used in the eighteenth century, now fully rehabilitated as lodging, dining, workshops , classrooms, storage of tools and materials, etc.

Small town surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes of outstanding botanical and fauna value

It is a small town which has the magnificent church of San Bartolomé, rural Romanesque S.XII, and declared national monument in 1965.

In Villacadima we can admire a Romanesque style parish church.

This is a typical settlement with mountain architecture; houses are built with stones from the surroundings and slate roofs.
