Since JSR's success as the first Japanese producer of synthetic rubber in 1960, the company has continued to supply the world market with synthetic rubber in the key categories of NBR, EP, SBR, BR, IR, and IIR as an “Integrated manufacturer of synthetic rubber.” JSR also distills butadiene (a major raw material of synthetic rubber) in-house, and Elastomix, which is already JSR Group company, manufactures and distr ibutes rubber compounds. A vertical business deployment that is not limited to just synthetic rubber enables JSR to provide its products in a stable manner.
A special-purpose synthetic rubber that combines extremely high oil resistance with other excellent properties, including abrasion resistance and heat resistance.NBR is used in a wide range of applications such as seal parts, hoses, and other automobile parts, as well as in various types of rolls.

Mold Fouling ResistanceJSR NBR is based on a polymer design that adjusts non-rubber content and components in order to reduce mold fouling. Mold fouling resistant grades have significantly less mold fouling, and this contributes to both increase in productivity as well as reduction in cleaning costs.
JSR NBR lineup covers wide range of Mooney viscosity and Bound AN content. Due to the differences in the structure of the polymer, low-AN grades offer superior water resistance in addition cold resistance.
The white, ring-shaped stain and the overall white staining of the surface are both examples of mold fouling. Compared with the other company’s NBR, JSR NBR show less mold fouling in both ring-shaped staining and overall staining.

Representative JSR NBR Grades and Applications
Ultra High, High-Nitrile (36% or Higher)N215SLN220S, N220SH
Used in applications that require high oil and solvent resistance.Main applications:Automobile parts, industrial hoses, packing, gaskets, O-rings, oil seals, and rolls
Medium High-Nitrile (30% or Higher, Lower than 36%)N230S, N230SL, N230SVN237, N237H, N236H
Used in a wide range of general applications that require oil resistance.Main applications:Automobile parts, industrial hoses, packing, gaskets, O-rings, oil seals, rolls, and adhesives
Medium-Nitrile (25% or Higher, Lower than 30%)N240S, N241, N241H
Used in applications that require more cold resistance and higher elasticity than medium high-nitrile.Main applications:Automobile parts, industrial hoses, packing, gaskets, O-rings, oil seals, and rolls
Low-Nitrile (Lower than 25%)N250S, N250SL, N260S
Used in applications that require more cold and water resistance than medium-nitrile, in particular.**Excellent water resistance is provided due to differences in polymer design, not AN content.
Main applications:Packing with cold and oil resistance, gaskets, oil seals, and belts
Heat-Resistant GradesN520, N530N640 (Acrylate-Modified)
Used in applications that require oil and heat resistance.Main applications:Automobile parts, industrial hoses, packing, gaskets, O-rings, and oil seals
Resin-Modifying GradesN202S, N210S, T496PN30A
These grades, which offer a high level of compatibility with polyvinyl chloride and phenol resin, can also provide excellent properties in terms of compression set, cold resistance, and other attributes by blending with resin.
Adhesive GradeT4103
High levels of both strength and cohesion give this grade excellent properties as an adhesive.
