A Prayer of Solidarity For all who have contracted coronavirus, We pray for care and healing.
For those who are particularly vulnerable, We pray for safety and protection.
For all who experience fear or anxiety, We pray for peace of mind and spirit.
For affected families who are facing difficult decisions between food on the table or public safety, We pray for policies that recognize their plight.
For those who do not have adequate health insurance, We pray that no family will face financial burdens alone.
For those who are afraid to access care due to immigration sta-tus, We pray for recognition of the God-given dignity of all.
For our brothers and sisters around the world, We pray for shared solidarity.
For public officials and decision makers, We pray for wisdom and guidance.
Father, during this time may your Church be a sign of hope, com-fort and love to all. Grant peace. Grant comfort. Grant healing. Be with us, Lord. Amen.
Stay Here And Keep Watch With Me. Can you spare one hour once a month for Jesus?
Please join us once a month (the first weekend of the month), for Adoration. This is comprised of verbal and reflective prayer for one hour at Immaculate
Conception Church. For more information, please call Kelly Alley at 503.509.4606.

*Sign –ups for Mass No Longer Required by the State.
However, parishes are still required to limit Mass attendance to capacity limits according to Risk Level per each county in Oregon. Pastors and parishes are simply required to ensure maximum numbers allowed are not exceeded at any given faith gathering. For many of our parishes, this change will still mean some kind of reservation system for Masses. Door moni-tors/hospitality ministers will still be needed to ensure mask-ing, distancing and cleaning protocols are followed and maxi-mum number are not exceeded. *St. Boniface Church has increased to 80 people maximum(70 downstairs/10 in choir loft plus choir members) and 25 in Parish hall.

For Lent For Life... Operation Rice Bowl: Catholic Relief Services’ Opera-tion Rice Bowl invites us to pray with our families and faith communities, fast in solidarity with those who are hungry, learn about our brothers and sisters around the world, and give sacrificial contributions to help those in
need. All Rice Bowls and donations can be turned in
during Holy week.
Next weekend is Commitment Weekend for the Archbishop’s Catholic Appeal. During Mass, we will
watch a video from Archbishop Sample about the Appeal. The Archbishop’s Catholic Appeal provides substantial financial support to essential ministries that support parishes in our
Catholic Church in western Oregon. These programs provide education and faith formation at all levels and provide a Cath-
olic presence for tens of thousands of people. If you received a personalized commitment card in the mail, please mail it directly to the Archdiocese.
Postage is paid on the pledge envelopes. We will not be collecting envelopes this year.
This week, please prayerfully reflect on the level of commit-ment you will make next weekend to the Archbishop’s invita-tion to share your blessings and support the Gospel mission
here in western Oregon. 2021 Goal for St. Boniface Parish is 13,438.86.
February 14, 2021
Dear brothers and sisters, "God is good all the time!"
Updates: While I am on vacation there will be no 8 am Mass on Sundays. Weekday Mass: Tuesday through Friday at 7 am . Thank you, Fr. Luan and Fr. Jossey. Sunday 10 am Mass with Fr. Dick Rossman. Please Continue to pray!
Ash Wednesday 2021: Archbishop Sample has asked this Office to communicate again his expec-tation that all parishes will consistently follow the Vatican instruction regarding the distribution of ashes this coming Ash Wednesday. Ahead of the beginning of Lent (Wednesday, 17 February) the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments published a note detailing how priests and other ministers are to distribute ashes. After blessing the ashes and sprinkling them with holy water in silence, the priest addresses those present, reciting once the formula found in the Roman Missal: “Repent, and believe in the Gospel” or “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return”. At that point, the note continues, the priest “cleanses his hands, puts on a face mask, and distributes ashes to those who come to him or, if appropriate, he goes to those who are standing in their places.” He then sprinkles the ash-es on each person’s head “without saying anything. Yours in the Risen Lord, Fr. Paul Materu, Pastor
St. Boniface

Consecration To St. Joseph 33-Day Preparation Begins February 15. On Dec. 8, 2020, Holy Father Pope Francis de-
clared 2021 as the year of St. Joseph, the human father of Jesus. To celebrate, Im-
maculate Conception invites you to partici-pate in our upcoming Consecration to
St. Joseph! What is Consecration to St. Joseph? Consecration
means that you are asking Saint Joseph to be your spir-itual father, that you want him to help you to acquire his virtues and become holy. St. Joseph will give those con-secrated to him his undivided attention, protection, and guidance. For the men of the parish, we will be meeting weekly to discuss the prior week’s reading, meeting first
in a larger assembly and then breaking out into small groups to discuss. For those wanting to participate re-motely, we will arrange for Zoom meeting groups as
well. The men’s meetings will take place Thurs-day nights beginning Feb. 11., from 7-8 pm.
For the women, we can also arrange discussion groups. We will be using Fr. Donald Calloway’s book, Consecra-tion to St. Joseph: The Wonders of Our Spiritual Father. Books are available for $15. The consecration will culmi-
nate on March 19 with a special consecration Mass. To learn more/register at
www.immacstayton.org/stjoseph.
Old Palms: You may bring your old palms to church and put them in the box under
the table where the bulletins are
located.

One does not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Prayer turns us away from sin’s rebellion and draws us into right relations with our Creator. The summit of Catholic prayer is the Mass, and a good Lenten practice is to attend daily Mass if possible. The Rosary, Scriptural reflection, Eucharistic Adoration and other forms of prayer also help us get the most out of Lent.
Fasting is a discipline designed to remove whatever threatens to become more important than God in our lives. Normally, fasting focuses on food, but it could also involve other activities like watching television or playing video games. According to the church regulations, those in good health are to observe the following practices during Lent unless for some serious reason they are unable to do so. Ages 15-59 fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, limiting yourself to one full meal and two smaller meals each day, with no snacking between meals. Abstinence: Catholics age 14 and older abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and all the Fridays of Lent. *Subject to change. Watch bulletin for updates.
