I believe that our faith, our family, and our friends are the three things that can get us through just about any challenge in our lives. The family is the very first place that we learn. We learn what it means to live in relationship and community. We learn about justice, authority and order and why those things are good. We learn about unity and peace. We learn what it means to love and to be loved, the way God has made us. But sometimes, we dont learn from or live in those perfect scenarios. The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Jo- seph are given to us as a model. But when we look at them in the man- ger scene, they might seem too remote for us. However, when we really listen to their story, we can see that their struggles were not too different from our own. There were hardships, and fears, and eventually they suf- fered loss. This is a continuation of what Christmas is really all about. Even in the midst of those uncertainties, and struggles, God entered into our history and into our lives and became a man to suffer with us and for us. Ultimately, this should provide us with a firm hope. The Holy Family has shown us a model of great love and faith. Today, we pray that that model may sustain us in all of our joys and our sufferings. The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph

Family is so important in our lives. I believe that our faith, our family, and our friends are the three things that can get us through just about any challenge in our lives. The family is the very first place that we learn. We learn what it means to live in relationship and community. We learn about justice, authority and order and why those things are good. We learn about unity and peace. We learn what it means to love and to be loved, the way God has made us. But sometimes, we don’t learn from or live in those perfect scenarios.
