Baptism: First Saturday of the month at 1:00 PM. Parents

must come to the Rectory with the with child’s original birth

certificate at least one or two months in advance. Instruction is

held on the Monday before the Baptism at 7:00 PM. For more

Fourth Sunday of Lent

Jesus came into this world to destroy sin.

The fruit of sin is death and death entered

through one man – Adam. In the same way,

through another man the New Adam, who is the

Christ – eternal salvation is brought to us. This is

the meaning of Christianity: to live united with

Christ. How do we experience that? In the ac-

ceptance of being united with him through our

own cross. In this way, we are inserted in the

three of salvation: Christ`s Cross. The parable of

the “prodigal son” shows the mercy of the Fa-

ther. The purpose of our life is to meet Christ, so

that we may stay with him forever. To meet him

means to acknowledge and experience for-

giveness of sin coming from him. Christ fulfills

his promise giving us eternal life in moment of

our passing from this world to the Father. In the

garden of Gethsemane He saw the danger of

man’s fear: the devil presented him the Cross

without the Resurrection: both a mere scandal

and meaningless torture. Today, if you and I have

hope, it is because the Lord has showing us what

is beyond the Cross: eternal life. We have access

to this life with endless joy, precisely because he

entered into our human nature and lifted it to the

heavens. To believe in the name of Jesus is to

believe that to live like Christ gives eternal life;

in other words, to love unconditionally. This type

of love will bear fruit of joy in this life and into

eternal life, because “whoever loves his life loses

it, and whoever hates his life in this world will

preserve it for eternal life.” The Lord himself

will engrave this love into our hearts!

“Answering Jesus” Call to Serve” We are looking for people to serve the children

of our community. Through the teaching of the

Word of God in our Religious Formation Pro-

gram, the children will learn about the presence

of God in their lives.

Currently the program serves over 1,000 chil-

dren. We need adults, young and old, to join us

in this mission.

We provide training for all our catechists.

“At the heart of catechesis we find, in essence, a

Person, the Person of Jesus of Nazareth, the only

Son from the Father...who suffered and died for

us and who now, after rising, is living with us

forever. To catechize is to reveal the person of

Cuarto Domingo de Cuaresma

Jesús vino a este mundo para destruir el pe-

cado. ¡Si hoy tú te los cree, entonces ya tienes vida

eterna! El Señor mismo marcara` con su Espíritu

Santo tu corazón así que él mismo, por su Nueva

Alianza Eterna en la última cena del Jueves Santo,

capacitara` tu corazón para amar. Los Profetas y

todos los que desde el principio hasta nuestros días,

nos han dado a conocer la voluntad salvífica de

Dios, nos enseñan que nada hay tan grato por Dios

como el hecho de que los hombres se conviertan a

él con sincero arrepentimiento. Y, para infundirnos

esto mismo, la Divina Palabra del Dios y Padre se

dignó convivir con nosotros, y enseñó todo aquello

que era necesario para que nosotros, que estábamos

privados de la vida feliz, fuéramos reconciliados

con nuestro Dios y Padre y llamados de nuevo a la

vida. Jesús es el nuevo Adán que nos salva de la

muerte. Él nos muestra como Dios actúa. Dios nos

envía a su Hijo de manera que podemos tener acce-

so al cielo por medio de su Cruz. Y así, siendo uni-

dos a la Cruz de Cristo por medio de nuestra Cruz,

podemos experimentar el poder y el amor de Dios,

así como lo vemos en el Evangelio del hijo prodi-

go. En efecto, Jesús no sólo curó nuestras enferme-

dades con la fuerza de sus milagros, no sólo nos

liberó de nuestros muchos y gravísimos pecados,

cargando con la debilidad de nuestras pasiones y

con el suplicio de la cruz, sino que nos enseñó tam-

bién, a imitarlo en su perfecta caridad para con to-

dos. Este amor a los demás es la actividad, por de-

cirlo así, que pertenece al cielo. ¡El Señor mismo

hará de manera que el amor brote de nuestros cora-

zones ya en esta tierra! Si te lo crees y si acepta

esta Buena Nueva (y si acepta también los sufri-

mientos que el amor implica) esta promesa se cum-

plirá en ti` en la Vigilia Pascual: recibirás un cora-

zón nuevo.

El Arbol de Vida de Aniversario está localiza-

do en la parte posterior de la Iglesia. Celebre
