WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:
Limit privacyinvasive technologies in traditional crimeand terrorism investigations, redefine "credible threats".Draft new laws or amend existing ones to impose economic disincentives and criminal penalties on law
enforcement and partners (both public and private, government and nongovernment) found to have
employed privacyinvasive technologies in the investigation of traditional crime or threats of terrorism
when no crime or threat of terrorism is found to exist. We do this to prevent the further erosion of our
Fourth Amendment rights by new technology. In related, we ask Congress to urge the FISA courts for
additional oversight and restrictions on FISA surveillance warrants issued. In related, we ask Congress
to review National Security Letters, in terms of the number and frequency issued and the constitutionality
of gag orders.
