General Items

• ITER site negotiation is still not resolved.

• As Rob informed you, the House Appropriation committee gave fusion $12M more that the FWP budget. This budget may increase our FY 05 run weeks from 14 to 18. This is a great news (though this is just the beginning of the process.)

• Open house was a success and thanks to the volunteers!

• PPPL Safety statistics got worse lately. Please do not forget about the importance of safety!

General Items

• The FY 04 run is going well. Thanks for your contributions to make the run successful!

• This year’s DOE “top level” milestone is 18 run weeks and we are well on our way to achieve that in July.

• We are getting ready for new exciting experimental tools!- RWP coil pair powered by a TFTR supply- CHI capacitor bank - Lithium pellet injector- PF 4 - Supersonic gas injector

We are entering the last period of FY 04 run

• We have only five weeks (minus July 4) left until July 23.

• We are going through an exercise to prioritize the XPs since there are clearly more XPs than the available run time.

• Stan will describe the latest plan.

We are looking into increase available run time

• To take advantage of new research tools just being implemented, to complete high priority XPs, and to partially make up for the shortened FY03 run, we are contemplating extending the run week to the first week in August.

• We are running two extended days a week.

• Is August run feasible?

• We understand that many of you have already made definite vacation plans.

Please let us know your summer plans. Send your vacation plan to Joanne.
