MATERIAL_FOR LIFE
SwissCell thats the name of the honeycomb structure that will
drastically change tomorrows world of design, form, construction,
and production. So what exactly makes SwissCell so special?
First, a great deal of expertise made in Switzerland and many years
of research and development. A simple idea. And the conviction that
our multifaceted world needs a material that allows for the design
of infrastructures, buildings, transportation, interior designs and
much more on an environmentally friendly basis. A material that is
affordable and can be utilised around the world. Something that
is lightweight, durable, and can be produced in a standardised
procedure. Thats why SwissCell consists of honeycomb structures.
It all starts with waste wood from pallets, construction debris,
cladding, casing, disused structures, and much more. This recycled
resource is then processed into large rolls of special paper. Thesepaper rolls are then saturated in resin. The paper thus becomes
extremely durable and strong. However, after honeycomb structures
are made from it in the SwissCell procedure, it defies practically
everything: weathering effects, heavy weight loads, etc. It can now
be coated on both sides - with panels of most any type of material,
for example. Easy to transport and cleverly joined together, the
former waste wood can now be used for exterior and interior walls,
supporting structures, roadways, furniture materials, or most
anything you can thinkof.

Its pretty amazing what construction material
made with the SwissCell method can withstand.
With pressure of 200 t/m and certain layers,
sandwich elements can be produced whose
capabilities surpass even construction elements
made of steel of concrete. However,they only
have a fraction of the weight and mass. Due to
their heavy weight,steel and concrete can cause
significant damage when breaking. This is not
the case with lightweight,yet extremely durable
SwissCell elements.

Admittedly: we didnt discoverthe honeycomb form, but were inspired by nature. However, a
few more developmental steps are necessary to make a material that can be produced indus-
trially in large amounts based on an observation.

How is it that the simplest toys still have the most positive developmental effects on children, even
in the age of video games? That is the secret of SwissCell. Just as a thousand games can be played

AROUND THE WORLD
Strictly speaking, not a single tree is felled in order to produce
SwissCell honeycomb structures. What we use forSwissCell is
leftovers from carefully selected wood products at the end of their
respective life cycle orwaste from wood processing.
In order to ensure that these prior uses as pallets or garden ben-
ches have no adverse consequences for our honeycomb structu-
res and their users, we implement gapless toxin control chains
and obtain internationally recognised non-toxic certification for
everything bearing the SwissCell name. Theres astoundingly little
material actually used in our clever product. From one single cubic
meter of wood waste, we can produce around 50 cubic meters
of honeycomb material. This is good for the environment thanks
to SwissCells especially low carbon footprint. Even the minimal
amount of energy used to create these honeycomb structures is
generated in extremely efficient high-temperature blockheating
works powered by renewable fuels such as biogas or vegetable oil.

If theres one thing that truly distinguishes us as engineers, then perhaps it is thinking about
possibilities without much fuss about it. Thus, here at SwissCell we use pretty unspectacularmethods day in and day out to create spectacularnew products by furtherdeveloping a very good
idea: the exceptionally effective mass production of honeycomb structures.
This is possible because SwissCell technology allows for the production of honeycomb structures
at an extremely affordable price while offering excellent physical and technical material charac-
teristics. As the sole producer, we here in the beautiful Swiss canton of Thurgau can provide this
honeycomb technology as a serially produced mass product with the best cost effectiveness.
With constant new development of coating layers, adhesives, and filling materials, new and sim-
ple things can be made from our product, such as kitchen countertops, bookshelves, and doors.
However, SwissCell materials are equally well-suited for bullet-proof, fire-proof lightweight plates
