    VCMD is a relativel" small device that is created on the !"mmetrix s"stem that allows %or hosts access to various

    devices on the !"mmetrix VCMD keeps an inventor" o% which devices have access to which host (,As) -ithout a

    VCMD in place' host s"stems will not be able to access the !"mmetrix .he VCMD should be backed up on regular

    intervals and would be help%ul in a rain" da"

    .he VCMD device si/e grew along with new generations o% !"mmetrix s"stems that got introduced' primaril" a means

    to keep a track o% more supported devices (h"pers 0 splits) on these plat%orms -ith the introduction o% !"mmetrix V1

    Max' the VCMD concept is now a bit changed to ACL2 (Access Control Logix) Access Logix is being used on the

    !elect Maskin"then VCM! Mana"ementand then initiali/e

    !elect a new backup and create a %ile name

    Create a %ile name with #sdm extenstion

    Click on$ctivate the VCM!

    VCMD backups are stored at %home%ecc_inf%data%hostname%data%backup%symmserial%

    Also it will be viewable within $onix Control Center at Systems&Symmetri'&VCM! !ackups&
