Youth Guarantee is a government

initiative which guarantees free opportunities for

rangatahi to achieve the basics in their education

– a foundation qualification with clear pathways

to further education and work. Te Wānanga o

Aotearoa was established in the 1980s after it

was recognised that our rangatahi needed more

options for their life, including education and

employment pathways. Being a provider of the

government’s Youth Guarantee initiative is yet

another way we continue to achieve this purpose

– to support the leaders of tomorrow.

We all have different learning styles and needs,

and Youth Guarantee provides a range of options

for 16 and 17 year olds who need alternative

options to mainstream secondary schooling.

In a supportive, whānau-like atmosphere,

Te Wānanga o Aotearoa offers programmes

from the arts and computing through to sports

and forestry. We all have options – help your

teenager choose the right one.
