    Flash MX 2004 presents with themost handy and intuitiveenvironment or working interface. It

    makes easier to assuming Flash,and speed its management andcontrol.

    Before ,we begin to create animationsin flash, we need to becomefamiliar with the document windowthat shows the following elements:Timeline ,stage, information bar,tool bar and panels.

    StageThe Stage is the rectangular areawhere you place graphic contentwhen creating Flash Professional

    documents. The Stage in the

    authoring environment representsthe rectangular space in Flash

    Player or in a web browser windowwhere your document appears during

    playback. To change the view of theStage as you work, zoom in and out.To help you position items on the Stage,you can use the grid, guides, and rulers .

    Timeline The timeline is an important part

    of the program, and can be usedto animate either by hand and/orwith Action Script .The timeline represents all frames of an animation; more frames means a longer animation, lessframes means a shorter animation.

    A timeline repeats itself bydefault; as soon as the last frame is shown, the animation jumps backto its first frame and beginsagain.

    Frame Key frame

    Frame view is adrop down menuthat controls the

    appearance ofthe timeline. Theyare limited by verticle linres

    (forming rectangle). While

    the numbers of framesallows us to know theassigned number of eachframe , its duration, andwhen it will appear in themovie.

    A keyframe is aspecial type offrame, indicated

    on the timeline,where you definechanges in animation.When you create frame-

    by-frame animation,every frame is aKeyframe.

    Layers Panels

    Layers help you organizethe artwork in yourdocument. You can drawand edit objects on onelayer without affectingobjects on another layer.In areas of the Stage withnothing on a layer, you

    can see through it to thelayers below.

    Panels are command setsgrouped according totheir functions. Its missionis to simplify and facilitatethe command use. Thereare following types ofpanels listed the menubar :-- 1. Color mixer

    TOOLS

    :-The Arrow tool (shortcut

    V) is the primary selection tool in Flashand it also can be used to modify lines andshapes. There is another arrow-shapedtool that's white beside it in the Toolbox.

    This is the Subselect tool and it has acompletely different function that will bediscussed later on.

    Specify preferences for the appearanceof the Pen tool pointer, for previewingline segments as you draw, and for theappearance of selected anchor points.Selected line segments and anchorpoints use the outline color of the layer

    on which the lines and points appear.

    The pencil tool is used in muchthe same way that you woulduse a real pencil to draw.

    It is used to freely transformobject, group, instances ortext block.

    It is used to transform a

    gardient or bitmap fill byadjusting the size ,direction,or center of the fill.

    Using the Brush tool , you can paint fills(only fills, not lines/stroke) onto the canvaswithout having to first draw any outlines.This affords a great deal of freedom whencreating shapes and artwork in Flash,especially when you fine-tune the Brush

    tool by setting various options.

    The ink bottle tool lets youchange the stroke color, linewidth, and style of lines or

    shape outlines.

    The paint bucket tool fillsenclosed areas with colour.

    The tool is used by clicking anddragging, while holding the mouse inthe direction you want to move thescreen.

    The tool is similar to various zoomtools you see in other programs. Ithas two options: ZOOM IN andZOOM OUT.
