My Perfect Wife The perfect wife will be different for every ma

n because no two men are looking for the same qualities in a wife. People say that the appearance of a mate shouldn’t make any difference, but it’s nice to have someone halfway decent. The physical aspects of the girl will play important role in whom I pick for my wife. She needs to be tall enough for me, because I am six feet two inches tall. If she were too short, it would be awkward when we were together. The shape of a girl is very important. She can be as slim as she wants, but overweight disgusts me. I would also prefer a woman with some beauty, hopefully not one ugly. I think overall, I want a slim-figured woman with a pretty face.

I am a very energetic person, the type of person that can’t just stay home and do nothing. I would want a wife who would want to play a game of tennis or racquet ball, or would go running with me. I would want her to get involved with life instead of watching TV or reading a book all night. She needs to be energetic, enjoy camping, boating, or just taking a couple of weeks off and traveling. The woman of my dreams must be full of energy and able to cope with everyday happenings.

I would also like a wife who is well educated. She does not necessarily have to have a four-year college degree but should be a girl who knows what’s going on in the world. She must be ambitious in her career rather than relying on her husband’s income. She needs to be helpful, knowledgeable about financial matters around the house. My wife must be intelligent enough to make decisions on her own without relying on me. She must be a woman with a brain as well as good looks.

My Perfect Husband: A Corresponding Essay to My Perfect Wife 01 级 罗春晓

“My perfect wife” by Keith Lanman really impressed me much, because if it hadn’t been for this article, I wouldn’t have found one sharing such fussy spouse-choosing attitude with me like Mr. Lanman. Thanks to him, now I have the guts to tell what my perfect husband would be like.

Just like Keith, I take physical quality into a big account when choosing my perfect Mr. Right. He must be handsome, definitely, but not too rakish; must be well-built, but not muscular; must be tall enough, but not taller than 1.8 meters, considering I’m just over 1.5 meters tall. In short, he should fit into the image of Cupid in my mind and perfectly pair up with me.

I am a relatively self-absorbed girl, thus, unlike Mr Lanman, I wouldn’t like one who keeps robust all day long and involving me in his business, but the standard I set would be as just high. Instead of being a stiff bookworm, he must be able to adapt himself to the way I like: while I need some peace, he would always leave me alone; while I want someone to grouse to, he would always be a good listener, and while I feel bored, he could develop fresh ideas to entertain me … To put it simple, I desire for a husband who always treats me right, being perfectly tactful and helpful.

When it comes to educational and financial aspects, I ask for more than Mr. Lanman does. Since I myself will be a university graduate, my husband should justly have a master’s degree. If I were going to get a master’s degree, then he should hold a PhD. My perfect “he” ought to be a Mr. Know-all, knowing things from the earth to the heaven. He must possess a successful career which brings handsome incomes. To sum up, he is the one I can always turn to, even if there were someday I lost all my intelligence and skills.

But, here comes the question that Mr Lanman may also face – how am I supposed to dig out such a perfect spouse?

Read the argument carefully. Identify the position it's taking. Identify the reasons it offers for that position. Note what sources it's relying on.

Refutations are even harder for audiences to understand. Your audience needs both to understand the argument you're refuting, and to understand your problem with it. So it's vital to be CLEAR.

For example, a good refutation might look like this:

The other side said that Dr. Smith's study clearly shows that video games do not lead to violence. But Dr. Smith is biased. His research is entirely funded by the video game industry. That's what the 2001 investigation by the Parent's Defense League demonstrates. So you can see that the other side has no credible evidence linking video games to violence, and they haven't established any need for their proposal.

Slimness, prettiness, energy and intelligence, to list only a few, are all the requirements for a perfect wife in Keith’s article. As a boy, I also dream of having such a perfect wife.

One day, if I am lucky enough to find my Mrs. Right like that, surely I will think the world of her. Whatever I do, I do it for her. Whatever I am, my heart beats only for her. And no matter how the world changes, her rosy cheek, red lips and gentle smile will linger in my deep mind, enduringly. We may live in a cabin. When the sun rises, we have a walk along a path, enjoying the breeze’s embrace, the flowers’ dancing and the birds’ singing. Our love fills the air and makes everything brilliant. When the dusk comes, at home by fire, whenever she looks up, there I shall be; and whenever I look up, there she will be. Side by side we sit, savoring the life sweetly. All will be poetic if I have a perfect wife.

Yet, life seldom gives us what we want. Back to the truth, the scenes above may be parts of people’s dreams that seldom come true in real life. In fact, no one is perfect in the world. I’m not a perfect one either. So I won’t require my future wife to be perfect. Maybe she is not beautiful, maybe she has bad temper, or maybe she hates to do house chores. But it doesn’t matter. As long as we love each other, as long as we have the same interest, or as long as I feel that I could confide in her, she will be my own perfect wife. That is my belief.

Anyway, dreaming of having a perfect wife is fine. Although it is difficult, we still can try hard to make the dream come true, or at the least, to make it far away from a nightmare.
