Sri Lanka ina false sense of importance dare tochallenge a great neighbour, India, whichwants Sinhala-Tamil conflict solved politi-cally. A pigmy is staring at a giant indeed!

The Liberation fighters of Thamil Eelamof course armed with moral and justiceon their side, had to face the StateTerrorism, which is superior to them inmen and material. The Sri Lankan fascist Statelead by the chauvinistic cunning SinhalaBuddhist leader JR is aided and abettedin the genocide of Tamils by the Inter-national Imperialistic Terrorists as CIA,MOSSAD, SAS and the South Africanarchitects of apartheid. The Indo-Sri Lanka relationship isseriously affected as a result of the SriLankan Navy interfering in the fishingrights of the Tamil Nadu fishermen. Thekilling and torturing of Tamil Nadu fisher-men and looting of nets and catches inIndian waters has lead to deterioration inIndo-Sri Lanka relationship, which eventu-ally lead India to arrest the Sri LankaNaval gun-boat. These aggressive attitudeof Sri Lankan Navy prompted the fisher-men of Rameswaram to take up anaggressive posture and demand theCentral Government through Tamil NaduState Government to stop these atrocities.They are even preparing a boat march toKatchativu to ascertain their traditionalfishing rights in the Palk Strait.

Ironically, in Tamil Nadu some militantmovements indulging in. intercene"warfare". Instead of aiming their guns atthe Sinhala chauvinists, they are trainingtheir guns on their brother Eelam fighters.Poster warfare, press releases, levellingwild accusations against each other,indulging in atrocities against each otherare their pastime nowadays. TELO INTRODUCES NEW ELEMENT TOTHAMIL EELAM STRUGGLE

20th November 1984 and 19th January1985 will be remembered by TELO witha sense of pride and achievement. TELOintroduced a new element in the confron-tation with the Sri Lankan Sinhala SecurityForces, which no other militant groupearlier adopted in combating StateTerrorism. To eliminate Thamil Eelamoppressors. TELO engineered a new tacticby engaging the Armed Forces in oneplace and attacked them in another place.TELO, during these massive attacks,consider every minute detail of the situ-ation that may arise due to the attack. Ittries to minimise the reprisals by StateTerrorists and concerns very much aboutthe safety of the people. This incidentprovoked 'The Guardian" London towrite: THis new professionalism mustworry the security authorities", "Takentogether these two incidents..., and theraid on the Police Station — could shatterthe morale of the Armed Forces and leadto a political destabilisation with whichJaywardene government could not cope".

53 Israeli trained police commandoswho woke up from their slumber on thedawn of 20th November 1984 littlerealised that they would never see thedusk that day. They were destined to diein the disaster that was brought about bythe massive TELO attack on the Chavaka-chcheri police station. The police stationwas attacked by TELO in order to call theSri Lankan Troops out of their Camps toengage them in combat.

TELO expected a reinforcement arrivingto the aid of the Chavakachcheri PoliceStation, and lay in ambush at Kaithady.They laid land mines and as expected, areinforcement was rushed in from

Elephant Pass Army Camp. They fell intothe TELO trap. Many dies in the mineblast and those who survived were moweddown by the TELO army. The death tollrose to 68 at the Kaithadi attack. Threearmoured cars were also fully destroyed.Army was ordered to be confined tobarracks and the usual backlash wasavoided. TELO army captured a haul ofmodern weapons in these assaults.

The Colombo bound Yal Devi carryingthe Sri Lanka State precious 'cargo1 wasnever destined to reach its destination,because of the TELO assault on 19thJanuary 1985. This incident took place at8.30 p.m. between Murigandy and

Mankulam about 70 Km from the northernCapital. Jaffna. 298 soldiers were killedin the attack — the biggest single losssuffered by the government forces in theirwar against Tamil Liberation fighters.

A land mine was laid to prevent rein-forcements reaching the place of the traindisaster. TELO by these massive assaultsturn the pattern of ambushes and skir-mishes, the usual guerrilla tactics tomassive assaults which will take theconfrontation between the Armed Forcesand the militant liberation fighters to apeople's armed struggle.

The American Imperialism, whichparades the earth, as if it is a giant, inothing but a paper-tiger! She is nowfighting a life and death struggle. In thisworld, who really fears whom ? Nationslike Vietnam, Laos, Palestine, or Arabsare not afraid of American Imperialism —or any other people for that matter. Inreality, it is American Imperialism whichis afraid of others. American Imperialism,even shudders at the sound of fJutter olleaves. It is a fundamental truth, that areasonable ideal musters full support andan unreasonable ideal receives littlesupport. A weak country could defeat if itis determined, a small country couldVanquish a big country. It is a historicalfact, that if a small and weak country,determines to take up arms and theirdestiny in their hands it could defeat theoppression of a big power.

At this critical juncture of the ThamilEelam struggle, our students who on theone hand are grappling with their bookesand on the other hand are being ruinedby the impact of certain alien cultureshave become incapable of standing upof their rights. Students who wouldbecome the leaders of tommorrow arethe persons who should voice their strongdisapproval of the oppression of anypeople. However, due to the divisiveforces amongst them and due to theapathetic tendency found in the middleclass, our students appear to be avoidingproblems that they must face squarely. Itis this situation that compelled us toestablish the organisation of Tamilstudents to educate them politically andto mould them into a belligerant forcethat would face problems with courageand confidence.

Today the Tamils in Ceylon face anni-hilation at the hands of the army of theSri Lankan Government. Our people arebeing brutally murdered. The army ofoccupation deliberately hampers us. parti-cularly the fisherfolk from carrying ontheir livelihood.

The murderous rapist government ofSri Lanka which puts on the 'Dharmistacloak and preaches from the 'Dhamma-pada" had planned to celebrate the 37thAnniversary of Ceylon s independencein a colourful way. To give an impressionto the international community that theTamils also took part in the celebrationsthe brutes from the Sri Lankan army wentabout facing our people to hoist the lionflag on their roof tops. To protest againsttheir infringement on the fundamentalrights of our people, the organisation ofTamil students organised a protest marchon 1st February 1985 of students from allthe colleges. This first organised protestof the OTS was a great success.

The organisation which has now enteredthe path to struggle has planned to publisha Tamil monthly journal named Thee-chchudar', which means 'Flame. Thisjournal would lay emphasis on unityamong all liberation movements bypointing out the inconsistencies amongthe movements as well as by makingrequests to abandon individualism.

ORGANISATION OF TAMILSTUDENTS (OTS)

In April 1984. the EROS, EPRLF andthe TELO formed a united front. It is nowcalled the Eelam National Liberation front(ENLF). Today, negotiations are in pro-gress for the other major groups to jointhe ENLF. The OTS believe that with theco-ordinate plans formulated by theENLF, it will be only a matter of time forthe armed forces of the Sri Lanka govern-ment to retreat from our territory. It willnot takes long for the Sri Lankan StateMachinery in our territory to collapse.The organisation of Tamil Students willput its heart and soul to make the co-ordination produce meaningful results.Further more, its monthly magazine wouldstrive to enlist international support forthe Eelam Cause.

Ac this moment, the OTS requast thepeople of Tamilnadu. their political partiesand then leaders to give their united,support to Thamil Eelam struggle. TheOTS request them to intervene an ' ironout the differences among the liberationmovements, and thereby strengthen thestruggle. It request the Indian peop.e andthe Indian Government to bring up theplight of our nation which is subjected togenocide at all democratic and humanrights forums.

The Sri Lankan Government, with theaim of covering up its economic ills andconsolidating its power is subjecting theSinhalese masses anti-Tamil racialistpropagandas. It is hoping to take on notonly the Tamil nation of Eelam, but Indiaand even the Indian ocean region becauseit is supplied with sophisticated arms bythe imperialist British and Americangovernments and by Israel, the shop-keeper of State-terrorism.

The OTS will continue its struggle insupport of the Thamil Eelam struggle.

TELO CONDEMNS VEHIMENTLY THE

ANTI- PEOPLE MOVESThamil Eelam appears to be a Cremato-

rium today The people of Thamil Eelamare forced to grip the bloody hand of SriLankan fascist State. The atrocitiescommitted by the Sri Lankan chauvinisticforces are not receding. The security ofthe lives of the Tamil - Speaking peopleof Eelam is at Stake.

The Thamil Eelam liberation fightersappear as a morning star for the people.Responsibility lies on the shoulders ofthese liberation fighters. They should bewith the people. Then and then only theycould win the just struggle. Somereactionary anti-social and anti-nationalgangs without realising the gravity of thesituation, and unable to face the SriLankan Army, in the garb of liberationmovements indulge in criminal activitieslike robbing the people of their property,temples, private vehicles and kidnapindividuals and demand ransom. Thesegangs are only interested in selfishmotives and not the liberation of ThamilEelam.

These activities of these gangs, leavea wrong impression on the minds of thepeople and among others in the inter-national arena. There is no differencebetween the behaviour of these gangsand that of the Sri Lankan mercenaries.It beholds on the part of the movementsto bring all the Tamil speaking people ofEelam together, under one banner, and

prepare them for a people's armedstruggle at this crucial hour, in their fightagainst oppression. Instead, some react-ionary movements lay their hands on theproperty of their own brethren Forexample kidnapping of three tradersrecently in Jaffna and demanding paymentof ransom is a gross injustice committedagainst our own people. There is anincrease in the incidents of robbery etc.and these acts are unjustifiable. Brandingof individuals as exploiters of poor people,as hoarders of wealth and therefore anti-Eelamists is not going to solve the ThamilEelam struggle, or win popular supportfor the liberation struggle. It is thebounden duty of the liberation movementsto pool all resources, to strengthen thenational liberation struggle for which thesupport of all classes of people, under aunited front of liberation movements isessential. These movements failed tounderstand that by punishing one or twoexploiters is not going to help theliberation struggle.

These acts of a few movements willonly create a counter-productive situationand help to bring forth anti-revolutionariesin the Thamil Eelam National Liberationstruggle. Therefore TELO, realizing thefutility of these acts of few movementsand gangs, vehimently oppose thesereactionary activities. If this situationcontinues, TELO wont hesitate to fightthis kind of atrocity particularly at thiscrucial period in Thamil Eelam Struggle.

TELO was conscious of the safety ofthe people and therefore they changedthe tactics from leaving the people at themercy of the rampaging forces, saw to itthat people's safety and security was wellassured when it carried out massiveoperations. These attacks removed theearlier impression that if an operationtakes place, the people have to face abacklash of Army rampage.

TELO realising the importance ofexternal forces which are at play,enhanced its strength and is going toface the final struggle For this urgentfunds are required.

The Tamil speaking people face manyhazards and one of them is illness. Medicalattention is essential. The Mossad-oriented Sri Lankan Armed Forces devisedifferent methods to terrorise theLiberation fighters and their supportersby meting out punishments in their TortureChambers, found in different Army Camps.The modern warfare methods are usedby spreading germs which carries dreadeddiseases and which spreads terror anddeath among the people. This is a way oftrying to cow down people who challengetheir oppressors.

In the Thamil Eelam Army Camps thevictims of Sri Lankan mercenaries particularly youths who bear the Torch ofFreedom, are subjected to worst cruelmethods of injecting dreaded diseasesinto their systems. Through them diseasesare spread to the rest of the population.

The imperialistic agentin the Indian Ocean, namely Sri Lanka, isinstrumental in introducing InternationalImperialism into Indian Ocean. Recentlythe media journal FORUM highlightedthe secret agreement reached betweenthe United States — Torch-bearer ofInternational Imperialism and its stoogeSri Lanka government lead by the modernHitler. From the 'FORUM' we learn that thissatellite station would be the most power-ful outside the USA. This station wouldbe sited at Chilaw which lies in thewestern coast of Sri Lanka This RadioStation will relay to the countries in the

Indian Ocean the recent news of thePentagon — the military headquarters ofthe U.S.A.

It should be warned that all thesenations including India is facing a threatto their security and sovereignty. Thesatellite station would spy all activities,military and otherwise, of these countries.
