SNEAKERS - SHOES OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY

S A Ž E T A K

Na pojavu i razvoj tenisica utjecali su mnogobrojni faktori; od otkrića

vulkanizacije gume, pojačanog interesa za sport i rekreaciju krajem

19. i početkom 20. stoljeća, nastanka popularnih Converse All Star

tenisica, popularizacije od strane vrhunskih sportaša i slavnih osoba

iz svijeta filma i glazbe, želje za identifikacijom s određenim ciljanim

skupinama. U radu je sažeto opisan razvoj prvih tenisica, pojava

značajnih robnih marki tenisica u prvoj polovici 20. stoljeća, razvoj

modnih tenisica u drugoj polovici 20. stoljeća te suvremena primjena

aditivnih tehnologija i 3D tiska u izradi tenisica.

A B S T R A C T

There were a lot of factors that influenced the appearance and de-

velopment of the sneakers; from the discovery of vulcanization of

rubber, increased interest in sports and recreation in the late 19th

and early 20th century, the emergence of popular Converse All Star

sneakers, popularization by top athletes and celebrities from the

world of film and music, a desire to identify with a certain target

group. This paper briefly describes development of the first sneak-

ers, the occurrence of significant sneakers brands in the first half of

the 20th century, growth of fashion sneakers in the second half of

the 20th century and also the modern application of additive tech-

nology and 3D printing in the making of sneakers.
